Story was nice but it appears George Tsai has had a hard time getting over Jones' leaving. And really I didn't learn anything new from this. But I guess when the replacement isn't working right now the beat gets a little boring. Move on George.

Thanks davidpaul for posting this article that sheds more light on the man coaching our Mustangs. Great read.

"resurrect a Hawai'i football program that had lost 18 games in a row"
"He cut players — and staff — who were deemed not to embrace the policy"
"his alterations were not limited to the playbook"

Sound familiar?

I'm surprised by George Patton's comment on Stephen Tsai's article in the Honolulu Advertiser. June Jones and Stephen Tsai are good friends and Mr. Tsai's article provide news on June Jones to the Hawaii fans. He helped the Warrior program and he will do the same with the SMU program. The Ponies will play a lot faster this season and will score a lot of points, all June wants is one more point than the opponent and the W, Stats never meant much to him. If a player struts too much and get to wrapped up in his stats he'll find himself on the bench. When June came to Hawaii he dumped the Warriors leading rusher who was too wrapped up with himself and his stats. It's all about the "journey" as a person and a W for the team.

You'll get use to the General. He is a lot like the running back you referred to. He's harmless though.

You must not hang around this site very much. It's almost like clockwork...any time something with a positive spin is posted there will be someone come charging in to "pee on the parade".

I wouldn't say like "clockwork"- I'd say usually after Saturdays in the Fall:

SMU has lost 21 straight to Bowl Subdivision opponents, 17 straight to Conference USA opponents and 15 straight road games.

Then I guess most of you avid followers completely forgot about this stuff when he came to SMU last year. Those stories covered all of those angles. But I did learn that Jones now owns a house here. So the story wasn't a total loss.

If Tsai had written something in the neighborhood to what Kate just wrote then that would be great. And the idea that Tsai and Jones are good friends -- probably not a good thing.
