Cole Beasley followed suit with a nice one-handed grab of his own ... and he WAS going top-speed across the middle of the end zone.

Cool. I just wish he could of did that in the Tulsa game last year on that last pass. We will be better this year.

Back to (full-team) kickoff drills. Cunningham's first kickoff went 7 yards deep in the end zone.

Szymanski's first went 8 yards deep. B.J. Lee fielded the kickoff and brought it out, getting to the sideline and turning the corner for a long return before being escorted out of bounds.

i really like the idea of bj lee returning kicks with his speed. plus at his size he could get lost back there.

Fleming purportedly added 16 (now listed at 6'4 236) in the offseason. Looks like a bona-fide TE prospect to me.



One thing that impresses me about Jones this year as compared to last is that he seems to be tweaking the system to fit the talent rather that forcing the talent to fit his system.

Scout team offense running a lot of different looks — if the freshman LBs end up contributing early, as some seem to think they will, they've got a lot of information to digest first.

Yeah, but just for one play, and he was screwing around. The QBs and WRs have been running passing plays in the red zone for the last 20 (?) minutes against no defense — just making sure routes are precise and they get their timing down — and after making a catch Robinson headed back toward the huddle, but jumped in front of Zimmerman like a CB. No need to worry — he's not switching to defense.

QBs have been largely on-target this afternoon, although J.J. McDermott just air-mailed a pass way over Zimmerman's head and far out of the end zone.
