I like me some Zapp's
HEB stores to carry UT-, Texas A&M-branded chips
Austin Business Journal
Zapp’s Potato Chips has inked licensing agreements with the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University to produce a line of Longhorn and Aggie chips.
The Gramercy, La.-based snack foods company secured the licenses through The Collegiate Licensing Co., which represents both schools. As part of the agreement, Zapp’s Potato Chips will contribute 10 percent of the wholesale price to the schools to support scholarships, athletes and each school’s general fund.
Several major grocers in Texas have already agreed to carry the UT and Texas A&M brands of chips, including San Antonio-based H.E. Butt Grocery Co. and Central Market. The stores will start carrying Aggie and Longhorn potato chips this week as fans gear up for the upcoming college football season.
The company also arranged separate agreements with the University of Tennessee and Louisiana State University to market branded chips to fans in those respective states.
Zapp’s markets a line of sea-salted Kettle-style potato chips. The company was founded by Ron Zappe, a native Texan who is himself a Texas A&M graduate.

I guess the Longhorn chip would have a beefy flavor. But what would an Aggie chip taste like? Dog, or chicken?
