Terrance GanawayI wish him success, sounds like a good kid. He wanted to come here but Bennett thought he had too many rb's (or that's what he said at the time). We'll see what he can do on the bigger stage of the Big XII. Eligible this year after sitting out last

Re: Terrance Ganaway
Goneaway also made a stop at Cougar High. He went to Baylor with Briles.
Re: Terrance Ganaway
yep - followed Briles there after his mom died of cancer
Re: Terrance GanawayHe actually decommitted from us. Bennett was going to sign him. We actually signed Chris Butler late in the recruiting season that year so it wasn't an issue of whether Bennett thought we had too many RB's.
Re: Terrance Ganawayafter he decommitted from Rice

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Terrance Ganaway
What part of this makes sense? Ganaway leaves Houston when Briles leaves, because his mom's cancer is getting worse (an admirable reason). He goes back home to Texarkana. His mom dies. Ganaway decides that he needs to stay around the local area to help out his family (again, admirable). Shortly thereafter, he signs with Baylor, where Briles is now coaching. He's probably a really good kid, but he found a loophole around the transfer clause that allowed him to save a year of eligibility.
Re: Terrance GanawayI remember one of his relatives or friends kept posting on this board about his commitment and decommitment to us. I recall Bennett may have recruited him as a db and he wanted to play rb. I recall him having a good first year at Houston.
Re: Terrance Ganaway
That's what it was...Bennett wanted him only as a DB. not sure but I don't think he ever committed to us because of Bennett's insistence that he only wanted him as a RB
Re: Terrance Ganaway
Well Phil Bennett did forget more football than all of us will ever know! Peruna is my mascot!
Re: Terrance GanawaySolid fullback as a freshman and would have gotten better with time. I don't recall him being a very good blocking back. He should be a nice fake option for Griffin to run in short yardage situations.
Re: Terrance GanawayGanaway is now 6'0 235lbs. He is #1 on the depth chart at "H" back and he will be returning kickoffs for BU as well.
Re: Terrance Ganawayuntil he transfers in the spring
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re: Terrance GanawayCalAllenStang, no loophole for Gannaway. Here's what happened:
Signed with UH & Briles and played as a true freshman. Briles leaves for Baylor. Gannaway wants to transfer to Baylor, but the UH AD Dave Maggard is bitter that Briles has left for BU, so he denies the transfer request. Gannaway does not want to stay at UH, so he transfers to Texarkana College which also allows him to be near his mom who was in ill health (and passed away during the year he was there). He did not play football at JUCO, so essentially it was like a redshirt year. After a year at JUCO, he transfers to Baylor as a redshirt sophomore...3 to play 3.
