wow it sounds like Stallion thinks he found Darius Johnson

Eye In the Sky wrote:Are we naysayers or realists? Doh's tenure has been nothing short of a disaster. We are entering year 4 and the program has progressively gotten worse. He can do the used car salesman routine and tell us (or tweet) how great things are, but there have been zero results. If McCoy isn't an all-conference player this year, there might be some drastic changes coming. The honeymoon has been over for a while.
I personally think the team will be slightly improved this year. Since the expectation level is so low for this program now, "improvement" might mean winning 10-12 games. Get the pom poms ready!
I really hope this season works out & we start seeing alot more w's. I want it to work for the kids & all of us long suffering fans. Based on what Doh has done here it looks like we may be looking to 2010-2011 with a new HC to start getting this ship turned around. His tenure here has been both very confusing & very disappointing. I still think that last season should have been Doh's last here. We'll see how it plays out. Hopefully, the 2 new assistants can bring some much needed energy & fresh ideas to the squad. At least we will have some decent D1 teams coming to Moody to watch this season.

I'm sorry but giving all credit to Doh for recruiting McCoy is a stretch isn't it? Doesn't the credit go to June Jones ( and maybe Gary Cogill, the movie critic who is also from Portland Grant? LOL) for assisting on the fact that he was from Portland Grant and knew that he may be available and had'nt made a college decision.......help us out here. I don't remember seeing McCoys name on Doh's lists until way late in the game. Doh wasn't recruiting Portland, Oregon since he got here.

The 'Jones really signed McCoy' nonsense is pretty hilarious. The Jones love is seriously ridiculous around here, especially when you consider that the basketball team is currently better then the football team, if Saturday is a judge. I'm not a huge Doh fan, but the only thing Jones is currently doing better then Doh is media relations. They understand marketing and the services on the football staff. The hoops staff is just learning how to be user friendly.

I don't get this as well, the football team is in shambles, yet people still are giving Jones a free pass, but have been all over Doherty.....Billyjoe is a prime example, he rips Doherty every chance he gets then goes over to the football board and proclaims we have "turned a corner" even after June posts a 1-11 season followed by a shaky win against an FCS school....Why the bias?

Went up to several of the team Saturday night on the blvd. Spoke with McCoy, Papa & Otis. They are pumped for the season. Seemed to be really great kids.
Also, several good recruits there with them.
WIth McCoy & Faye the team has 2 legit go to type players. Williams is a solid pg. Clink should give us another legit scoring option outside. Interested to see how RN, Otis & Haynes have progressed.
Papa & Luttman need to bring an attitude down low.
Despite the coaching, I think we are going to surprise some people.

I've worn this act out, but there has to be such a transformation in Papa Dia's game this season that we need to look at each other and say, "Who are you and what have you done with Papa Dia?" That's how big he is to the season taking off.
If we get solid production from McCoy, Clinkscales and Williams -- that's an interesting backcourt -- then Dia just opens up the post.

I don't think either team is in a position to do much bragging. PonyDoh wrote:I'm not a huge Doh fan...
Oh really? Then why did you pick that name? PonyDoh wrote:They understand marketing and the services on the football staff. The hoops staff is just learning how to be user friendly.
That's not a good sign for such a "veteran" coach who claims to be with "it".

Oh really? Then why did you pick that name? Once upon a time I was Ponybacker and posted a ton. When the board switched over a long time ago, Ponybacker was gone. I'd like to see Doh work, it's what's best for the program. That said, I'm not a fan of much of what he does. My hope is the good eventually outweighs the bad.
