RIP: Coach Dave Smith

Postby Sam I Am » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:19 am

Former SMU Coach Dave Smith has died. His teams back in the 1970's had the M & M backfield of Morris and Maxson. Unfortunately, the team was paid small incentives for game performances that got the school on NCAA probation. As I have written before, the definition of a student athlete should be not whether he is an amateur but if he meets full academic standings. The Smith family deserves our sympathy and condolences at this time. Lest we forget. :|

PK, I forget, is silver one of our official colors?

What does whether silver is one of our colors have to do with the passing of Dave Smith? He was a good friend, a good and brave man and a good football coach. He will be missed.
