Fox's Season What If Predictions

Postby Peruna94&07 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:19 pm

This is interesting, hopefully they are wrong about SMU. 3-9 is not what we are looking forward to. I think that is the bottom we should expect, if the Gunslinger clicks I am thinking we have a chance at a few more wins.

i think I know your answer because its the same as mine, but if the football gods offered you a 4-8 season right now, would you take it the bank? Or would you risk another 1-11 season in exchange for the hope of hitting a hot streak and winning 6 or 7 games? For me, no way i take 4-8 even though the experts might call that progress. Gotta get to a bowl game. If Rice can go 10-3 or whatever with a new coach, i still cant give up on expecting winning seasons in this conference.

I hear you regarding Rice, but they truly did have an interesting situation on offense. Casey was a beast that in my oppinion was difficult for any team to plan for. How often do you have a 23yr old tight end that played all over the place. I think this season will really tell how Rice is doing as a team. If they make a bowl then the new coach really turned things around and we should be concerned. My oppinion is that was their flash in the pan and won't see them again for several years.

I am concerned if we don't make a bowl this season that next season will be a challenge losing Sanders and if Robinson has a blow out season maybe him to the draft.

As many have said we have to win WSU or UAB, hopefully both otherwise I think a bowl game is out of reach this season.

Can't wait to Saturday, I expect to see a great game with us killing SFA.

Wait...you're in the circle of champions...who'd a thunk.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Expect a bowl game? You don't listen to jt. No expectations. I would wet myself if we were bowl eligible this year. We have a good, but young QB. Some excellent wide-outs, maybe a running back, maybe not, and a defense that was last in the Country last year, and a young OL. There are at least seven possible wins in the schedule (SFA, WSU, Tulane, UTEP, Marshall, Rice, and UAB). But let's be realistic. Some of the possible wins are on the road. WSU is a bad BCS team, but still a BCS team and we haven't been able to even beat Baylor when they stunk. The other CUSA teams are about even with us on any given Saturday. So, we could easily lose some of those games. Then, we'd have to pull an upset or two over Navy, TCU, UH, Tulsa, or ECU. Not impossible. But to get to 6-6, we'll need some great play, no academic problems, and few if any injuries.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
