Re: SMU -19.5Cover
Re: SMU -19.5Agree with Patton, if this team has improved as we expect we had better win by 4TDs (though it is the first game.)
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: SMU -19.5From Rivals
Stephen F. Austin at SMU, 8 p.m. THE BUZZ: SMU is billing its opener as a "white-out game." Usually, those are reserved for big games. But given SMU's poor play the past couple of decades ... Expect a ton of passes: June Jones is SMU's coach and SFA QB Jeremy Moses threw for 4,026 yards and 41 TDs last season. THE LINE: No line. THE PICK: SMU 41-26.
Re: SMU -19.5We need to cover by double to really make the sellout as effective as it could be as an advertising tool.

Re: SMU -19.5Given our untested new defense and the fact that we struggled to beat a D 1-AA team last year, I would be hesitant to predict a 3 TD win by SMU. We may be that much better but based on our last two years, I would not predict a SMU team to be a 3 TD favorite (and when was the last time we were a 3 TD favorite???). I would predict a 6 point win assuming SMU has the ball last.
Re: SMU -19.5Line is big because were playing a D-1AA team. It'd be very telling if we only win by 6 points at home...
Re: SMU -19.5
The 1-AA team we played last year, Texas State, was one of the best 1-AA teams in the country. SFA was one of the worst. Texas State beat SFA 62-21 last year.
Re: SMU -19.5My official prediction: SMU 63 SFA 21. At least before trash time starts.

Re: SMU -19.5cover...the spread should increase, seeing as SMU fans have more of a gambling bank roll than our plumber opponents
Re: SMU -19.5I hope the majority of predictions are closer to reality than mine. I could think of nothing better than the temptation to leave with the students (halftime) because we are so far ahead.
With a 2-22 record with some very unimpressive wins, I am a bit more cautious until I see what the team has and how they perform.
Re: SMU -19.5Why would you leave at halftime if we have a big lead?
Re: SMU -19.5
If, and that is a big if, we are well ahead and it appears that we, within a reasonable doubt, will win, then it gets me started down the road that much sooner. That said it would be a temptation not a certainty that I might leave. M<y tendency is to stay regardless of lead or deficit till the bitter end.
