Or a touchdown, 2 pt conversion, and field goal

3 field goals and a safety

Touchdown, missed PAT, field goal, safety

I suppose that the copy editor knows nothing about sports.
That's a cop out. The front page story was written by the Editor in Chief of The Daily Campus, Nichole Jacobsen. The editorial was written by the Sports Editor, Stephen Lu. Both of them have the responsibility of PROOF READING their stories on the 'dummy' before the paper goes to press. If The Daily Campus doesn't have a more responsible 'copy editor' than this then that person needs to find another job.

Apparently, the copy editor gets the final edit before the paper goes to press. I'm not sure why.

However, I know for a fact that this line from Jacobsen's story was original and not changed by the copy editor:

"Sanders was the man responsible for catching nine of those interceptions, making him the first player in SMU history to record three 600-yard receiving seasons."

Two "two point" attempts intercepted and returned for 4, and a touchdown and extra point.

Why do you waste your time with that paper? It needs to be put under the control of the journalism department or something.

How about just 11 Point afters returned for a TD?

The person responsible for that mistake should be replaced immediately. I know 3rd graders who would have caught that one.

That would be 22 points.

PAT scoring guide:
Touchdown - 2 points
Field Goal - 1 point
Safety - 1 point.

And we wonder why newspapers are going bankrupt.

The Daily Campus reflects the attitude and feelings of the S.M.U. student body. As a supporter of the university, I like to know what the students are thinking.
