BSU player started it by taunting. That needs to be addressed by Boise State coaches with some penalty. Oregon has to suspend for the moment, the player who hit his opponent.

So this was the only taunting going on in the game? Addressing all the taunters is fine, but this guy flipped a circuit and deserves a lengthy suspension or dismissal.

We learned a lot more about Boise than anything. As Bob Davie pointed out, this couldve easily turned out like Miami-Fla Int'l a couple of years ago. The situation was diffused and off it went. Also pointed out by Davie was that from pregame through the game and after the game, trash talk and taunting goes on, especially between RBs, LBs, DBs, WRs.

Good job Boise. Also reminds me how much fun and how much class they demonstrated when we were in the WAC and would come and post on pf.com

Course he then lost his head and probably felt pretty threatened.

Guess in the end, you can't throw a punch , but he was provoked....We have seen SMU guys take swings at other players in the heat of things, I would say he gets his one game suspension and should be allowed to play again.

Good point. Both players should actually be dealt with. When I saw the tape Coach Peterson was none to happy with his player for inciting the incident by pushing the Oregon player. That showed no class either. I am sure Coach Peterson will have disciplinary actions for him as well.

I agree. The Boise St. LB was wrong for doing what he did, and he will surely be punished (probably not by the conference or NCAA, but you can bet he'll be doing some running in the near future), but you just CAN'T punch a guy in the mouth after the game. That kid will be lucky to ever see the field again. Remember Lawrence Phillips? That's gonna be the road this jack@$$ is going down if he doesn't watch it. Even funnier, though, after hearing about the "@$$ whuppin'" comment he ade earlier.

I remember an SMU player either last year or two years ago taking a full out swing at a player after the whistle...as conference rules dictate, he was thrown out of the game, suspended for the next, and then came back and played after that.

Same should happen here.

Yeah, if the BSU player would not have pushed Blount it would have never happened. Verbal taunting trash talk happens all the time but you don't push someone. NCAA should deal with both. Blount has made a public apology and so should the BSU player.

Well, Oregon went ahead and suspended him for the year...can't blame them, this has really erupted and has cast their school in a negative light. Interesting that Boise State is going to take no action against the player that started it by taunting, they should at least sit him a game for being unsportsmanlike. Hell, that was the toughest game Boise has until their BCS bowl in January which should be gauranteed with the rest of their schedule.

The lesson to be learned here is that if you are going to taunt another player, keep your helmet on.
