Re: DJ > BeasleyHey the guy ( Beasley) just had a bad start and has good hands so give him a break..he did come back in after losing his confidence and made a nice catch in the second half...he is the real deal..the coaches know what they see and he is in there for a purpose. He will be fine.

I'm starting to worry, because I agree with you again! LOL

![]() from http://smu.scout.com/2/896008.html This is what you get from The Truth, even in his first game as a true freshman, the kid is a bonafide playmaker when the lights come on, you can't teach that!
Re: DJ > BeasleyJust saying you can't compare the two as they will all play anyway. The scheme needs all the WR's they can get and DJ will get his time and will show that he is the "TRUTH" but Beasley can catch and he will ,but he is not in the same league as DJ....we never said Beasley was rated. This JJ program doesn't require the taller WR's that other programs have ( nice to have them if we can get the quality ones) but just many fast WR's (prefers ex-QB's) that run around catchin a bunch of balls.
Re: DJ > BeasleyWhat is the knock on lofton? He started against TCU, the #1 defense in the nation, and probably the toughest and fastest team we played. As I recall, we didn't have much offense against them for three quarters except for his catches and then afterwards we found out he was playing almost the entire game with a broken collarbone that required surgery and he was lost for the season. Maybe he is too tough to play in our offense. From the reports I saw in the spring, summer and fall he may have the best hands on the team. Is it off the field issues such as academics or else in the coaches' doghouse? I just don't get it after watching all the drops the other night. I rarely saw any of our speed guys get open and/or make good adjustments to the deep balls. Sometimes they just watch the interceptions and don't even bother to make an effort to prevent the long int return. I did notice the freshman made a great effort to help tackle one of the SFA guys after a long interception. Otherwise, it was just BO and some big slow offensive lineman trying their best.

Yes, I thought Loftin had some of the best hands on the team. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: DJ > Beasleyit's not really about his hands, its his great toughness as we were all impressed last year after he broke or injured his collarbone and still played in a losing season that so much spoke about his Ponypride! He will play and will make many strides this season...
Re: DJ > BeasleyPonyscott......thanks for staying positive! That is what we need, people who don't overact when we play bad or lose.(like I do). I think that is one of the great things about football....one week you are down in the dumps and everyone thinks you are bums and the next week you spring an upset and everyone is happy again and back on the bandwagon. Kudos to you guys who are there through thick and thin. One day, hopefyully sooner than later, you will be rewarded for your loyalty.
