Re: UAB PredictionsWashington St lost at home big to Stanford. They are probably the weakest BCS school in the country. We need to win one of the next two but I'm not sure if WSU is any better than UAB.

Re: UAB Predictions
Rice outscored UAB in the second half the 2nd quarter was what killed rice their D gave up 20pt in the 2nd. Sent from my KOREAN knockoff using Tapdance 5
Re: UAB Predictions
I think UAB has better athletes than WSU, but, WSU will have much better fan support than UAB.
Re: UAB PredictionsToo bad for WSU the fans arent playing.
I think we have a better shot at WSU then UAB - but not a great shot at either. This team was weird last year and I see it carrying over.....our two most competitive games last year were the two best teams in the conference - Houston and Tulsa - so I actually think our best win shot in the next three games is ECU - which I know makes no sense but just trust me on this..... and just to remind everyone - a dropped pass lost us Tulsa - thats right .....it was Beasley.

I am with you on that Alex. I also heard that the flu has hit their team and campus pretty hard. Hope everything is better when we go up there. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: UAB PredictionsIf BLM passes like he did against Tulsa & Houston last year then that will open up our running game too. SMU 38 UAB 24.....If BLM passes like he did Saturday night against SFA and JJ keeps him in the whole game, UAB 47 SMU 17.
Re: UAB PredictionsSzymanski wins it @ the end with a fg.

Re: UAB PredictionsOne wonders if some of those now confirmed flu cases were just starting to manifest Sat. If so, that might account for some of the poor performances (QB, receivers). The D looked better than it has in 2 years. They played with much more energy and a desire to hit. I like the improvement in D and hope it continues.
Still too many questions after Saturday to feel an adequate prediction can be forthcoming. I think we win but by 4 points. SMU 31-27. I think our D saves us again in the 4th quarter. However, if the flu hits our key players, it will be a UAB blowout like the 1976 SMU game at Legion Field.
Re: UAB PredictionsMaybe UAB will be overconfident and take us lightly. Then we can pull off the upset.

Re: UAB Predictions
Wazzu will have played hawaii on the 12th. Although the schemes are somewhat different they will have had 2 successive weeks to practice defensing the shoot. I watched practice and it looks like they are implementing a soft-zone scheme. In terms of offense they are mostly inside zone running, but adopted some spread aspects in terms of running out of the gun. The TEs (they have quality depth) are being used more in practice using hybrid 'Dennis Erickson spread' schema. They look to be shy one reciever on offense. On Defense the linebackers are much improved from last year (esp. mattingly and bland), the SS (Chima) is solid and there is a decent rotation at FS. The DT's look better and have actually been generating pressure on the interior and the LE (young guy) has some quicks. ![]() ![]() ![]()
