Did they show the home side? It was pretty full (or so it appeared from across the field)

SFA announcers said that the sold out crowd was disguised as bleacher seats, but that was midway through the fourth quarter. Sounded like sour grapes to me. A crowd like the Baylor game would be awesome!

end zone was pretty thin as were "edges" of visitor side...that's why I say about 25k.

Couldn't see edges of the visitor side...end zone was pretty thin but there were a lot of people on the berm. I think it was more about 27,500 to 30,000...it was about the same size crowd as the TCU game last year. Luckily, we won this one.

I assume the club seating and private boxes were full and those are easy numbers to miss...could have been 27-28k I suppose

Yeah, those are usually full for the first game. Then, we we start losing, those people magically have to miss games to attend "fundraisers" or "benefits." Wish we could get more people in the visible areas.

Why did you waste your time listening to the SFA announcers?

I was driving back to Lufkin (hometown) after the UH win over NW State. Caught the end of the SMU/Jacks game in Livingston and rode it into Diboll. Their announcers kept bemoaning the six turnovers but were fairly upbeat about their future prospects with such a close game at SMU.

Ah, I see. Their team did look better than I had expected.

I'd say 28 - 29K.

Looked like the Baylor crowd plus people sitting, and playing on Mustang Hill :!:
May the forth be with us.

I tried to sit in as many seats as possible throughout the game to make the stadium look more full.

I really think the game count was in the 22-24,000 range which is great for us.....but its baby steps and maybe some fans were created here on Saturday night and the next time some more new fans were created and they bring others and so on and so on....but don't feed them after midnight.
