Re: RED JERSEYS
As some point we were undefeated wearing blue last season. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: RED JERSEYSThe red ones looks good, and as some pointed out, we're undefeated in them this year. However, I've always thought the blue unis are pretty awesome.

Re: RED JERSEYSI don't care what they wear. I just want them to pick something and stick with it so that we can build some brand identity.

Re: RED JERSEYSthe importance of "brand identity" is way over the head of most SMU fans who constantly talk about how each of the 5-6 successive changes in the jersey over the last 8 years or so are COOL. Get this when most fans think SMU the only consistent jersey they can think of is the Blue Pony Express uniform. If your average football fan across the country flicks the TV remote he'd have to be Eistein to figure out SMU was playing during the last 10 years. IT IS VERY BUSH LEAGUE not to develop a brand identity. The great programs realize this. The losers think its cool to change the uniforms every 5 weeks because the kids love it. Here's the Top 25-at least 18 of those schools have made only minimal changes in decades. Smu has 3 uniforms for each 5 year coaching stint. SMU can't even figure out what color it wants either their helmet OR their Uniform to be.

Re: RED JERSEYSre 'brand identity'
thus the reason Rich Rod at Michigan was dinged when he suggested uni changes at the start of his regime. I was pleased when JJ went back to something that approximated uniforms from the most successful 'recent' past...that said, we are not Oregon, and a new uniform of the week would do little to help local, regional or national identity. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: RED JERSEYSDo any of the members of the Circle of Champions have a vote or say on the uniforms? I am willing to bet that the majority of those members like the "Pony Express" blue.

Re: RED JERSEYSGood call. You are exactly right on the branding, as stick with what was most successful. Look at Penn State..those are the ugliest uniforms of all time and no names are on the back either..just plain ugly, but we ALL know who they are. They never change that style. The helmets SMU uses should be the white ones that the Pony Express wore ( like this year which is good and not the blues ones from two years ago with Bennett)and the jerseys are better to be the blue ones and the home or travel white ones, but not these red ones. It's not a deal killer, but stick with one color scheme if that is it and leave it alone so we can be identifiable and branded.
Re: RED JERSEYSI was prepared to hate the red jerseys, but they actually look pretty good. I still prefer the blue on principle; our colors are red and blue in equal billing. The red jerseys give preference to red with the red mustang.

Is the change of avatar a reflection of a win over a Div. 1 Football Championship Subdivision team? I thought that was reserved for a Div 1 Football Bowl Subdivision victory! Definitely an improvement, ![]() ![]() SMU - IT'S YOUR TURN
