Nice article, I did hate reading the part that he had to bust his butt through two summer sessions because SMU did not accept some of his Miami credits...we gotta cut that crap out if we want to get some more quality transfers down the line. the University of Miami is no Harvard, but its no East Mississippi Community College either..take the damn credits!

He comes off as a very hard worker.

Also, for those that still like Newspapers...another good day to pick up the DMN..the Shawnberry McNeal story is the prominent story on the front page with a very large and impressive (and in color) picture of him running the ball. Nice to See an SMU color action shot as the big picture on the front page.

I was concerned too when reading that SMU did not take some of his credit hours. Did SMU not take some of his credit hours because 1) SMU did not offer an equivalent course? or 2) he did not make a passing grade in some of his classes he took at Miami? If the model has really changed then a kid looking to transfer here will have all of his passing courses accepted by SMU. TCU accepts them, UTEP accepts them, Tulsa accepts them, etc. We have seen too many transfers and jucos not look at us and go to our rivals because SMU has unfriendly admission policies.
