McCoy talks about transfer rumors

This is pay article, but I didn't see anyone discussing this issue anymore so I thought I'd throw it out there for those who have the subscription:

unless we win 15 or more this year, he's gone

lol, we sent the new assistants out to talk him off the ledge.

Is that what the story reports/implies or are you just throwing that out there?
Sorry, I don't subscribe so any tidbits without breaking the code of ponyfans ethics would be appreciated!

the article gives the McCoy rumor legs which he confirms. The part about him being gone w/o a huge team improvement is what I know to be true, as of now. These are kids after all and subject to change. The kid knows he can play up a level, and will continue to receive pressure to do so.

Transfering after 2 years is difficult and not a great move. He would be better off going and playing in Europe than transfering.

Just reread the story to make sure I didn't miss anything. Nothing about how many games we needed to win. Wants to do a better job leading the team. Others wanted him to leave and he needed time to make up his own mind. Wants to help the team have a big turnaround.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I don't subscribe either and am commenting based on the other remarks. If the team tanks and Doherty somehow stays, then I think McCoy leaves.

If the team tanks and Doherty is canned, then it's 50-50 with the new coach that McCoy stays. The name and the internal recruitment from the new coach to convince McCoy to stay will be the focus.

Of course, if the team pulls off a .500 season and really has the look of something turning, then I would guess he would stay.

McCoy is not and will not be going anywhere. This is or would have been the year for him to transfer but he didn't, so he will finish his years at Smu regardless if they win more games or the coaches leave. Good Luck Paul and you need to man up and stop crying when you all lose. Use that energy to improve your game.

not necessarily true since he hasn't redshirted yet. He could play as a sophomore-tansfer-sit out transfer year-and still have 2 years to play.

He's here. Let's play ball!

We can worry about this again after the season.

Paul, if you read this I hope you know how much I appreciate your efforts last season & look forward to many more great games like you gave all the Mustang fans last season.
You are an incredible talent & I hope you have a great season as both the star player but also as the team leader. We need you to step it up in both areas for this team to win.

I'm sure in Paul's respectful way, he sent the indirect message to the coaching staff, "Get your acts to gether.''
