Mrs. H please tell Evan that he still has great support here on PF and we all wish great things for him no matter where he decides to continue his football!

And that as far as I am concerned he will always be a Mustang. I appreciate what he gave to the program.

Hopefully EVERYONE who passes thru SMU will become/remain a loyal Mustang fan. We need all the support we can get these days.

Hopefully Evan finds a place where he is happy and gets to play...maybe even grapple as well? Any I-AA schools or Division II schools wrestle these days?

Why do we have to sugar coat things? If it is true that he quit because he didn't like his position on the depth chart - that is a crappy attitude that we don't need around here.

I hope that wasn't the reason he quit.

Best wishes to Evan. Good kid whose heart seemed to be elsewhere (Cali). I hope he has success in his next endeavor.

Look folks....he quit. He left his teammates. He could have contributed to the team this year and help them turn it around. He will not be a Mustang forever. He is no longer a Mustang. He lost that right when he quit. If he stays at SMU and gets a degree then he will be a Mustang but it ain't likely. It is players like Evan that quit that really hurt the program. I am tired of quitters who walk out on the team. I have seen enough of this over the years. Sorry to be harsh but it is the truth.

One of the most overblown recruits at SMU in years. He weighed a lot and he wrestled and somehow some of you sure he was the next Jerry Ball. Glad we got the scholarship back. When his weight blew up again I figured it was just a matter of time.

say what you want about Chris Phillips, but there was one friday afternoon after Thanksgiving that i was pretty proud of him for running over some Frogs. As usual, we were completely outmuscled by TCU all over the field and getting punished. It hurt to watch. Except for one Chris Phillips who was scrambling, fighting and running over Frog linebackers by himself. We lost of course, but hung in there largely because of Phillips. A precursor to DeMyron Martins performance running over Frogs in 2005.

I agree with Stallion. Evan seems like a good kid and Proud Momma is a great and loyal poster. However, he played high school ball at Servite in Southern California. While he played there, he was on a team with 2-5 Star recruits, DJ Shoemate and Chris Gallippo and another 4 Star recruit, I forget his name...but they all signed with USC. I guess my point is, every college in the country was scouting that team and Evan had one late offer from us. He just was never going to be a d-1 player. I hope he finds success and playing time elsewhere and wish him the best.
