we don't know whether Evan was happy here or whether he was "encouraged" to move on by the coaching staff...it certainly didn't appear as if he was going to contribute significantly this year and who knows what his future might have held? We all know that none of the guys on this roster are guaranteed they will be invited back next year.

I'm not going to label anyone a "quitter" without knowing the facts...but I sure do hope there's a JUCO DL out there who can backfill this roster spot...and I do hope Evan is happy wherever he ends up. Any kid that comes to SMU from California is subject to a bit of culture shock. Don't know if that was a factor here or not, but I know I thoroughly enjoyed my college years and wish the same for anyone's kid.

Speaking of DT. I am glad that Chase is back at the position because we need depth! And did Jesse Andrews quit the team? He was working 2nd string at one point then next thing i know he dissapears from the depth chart and is at 5th string? He seemed like more of a DE to me anyway. And speaking of DE's. Taylor Thompson did not seem to live up to all the hype. Hopefully he does better tomorrow.

I think Andrews is still on the team.

And i don't know why everyone is upset. JJ inherited the worst talent in the country.
He had 2 weeks for his first recruiting class

EastStang wrote:Az1, you pull out the names of the best players we got. You forgot about Eric Dickerson and Doak Walker. How about the other 10 players who were on the field with them? I vaguely remember Josh McCown couldn't complete a pass because the line couldn't stop anyone from sacking him repeatedly. Great player but only if he has a few players around him. And btw look how good the Cardinals got AFTER he left. Justin Rogers getting double teamed because other linemen couldn't get the job done. My point is that the talent on this team right now is slightly better OVERALL than in years past. I go by speed figures and size. Let's see if they can beat 1-11 this year.

I got you EastStang. I'm with you.
