Boy, Johnson went off again and Collins is averaging 30 per catch. This is off the charts good for SMU.

I saw Johnson and Collins hook up last nite on the Fox High School Highlites but I really don't think he's more than 5-11-just estimating but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a tad under 5-11. So I don't think its likely that he's a Division 1A QB. But considering he is so lethal as a runner I see him as an Inside Receiver and very possibly could be used as a Wild Mustang in the direct snap. He has run for 458 yards on only 51 carries 9+ yards per carry which is incredible for a 5A QB playing 3 top programs.

Good article on Tyler John Tyler including prominent mentions of Jeremy Johnson and Rickey collins. In addition to the 85 yards in receptions Collins and 161 all purpose yards

Complete and utter domination. Total Offense: TJT: 502 yards Rider: 16
First Downs: TJT: 26 Rider 2

Jeremy Johnson accounted for 292 yards of the Lions’ total offense including 11 rushes for 122 yards and three touchdowns on runs of 7, 11 and 45 yards and also completed 11 of 18 passes for 170 yards and two scores, both to wide receiver Ricky Collins. Johnson and Collins hooked up for a 57-yard TD in the opening quarter and then a 9-yarder in the fourth. Collins ended with 3 catches for 84 yards.

Unfortunarely, Johnson also accounted for both of Rider’s touchdowns.

Defensive end Mark Strange intercepted one of his passes and returned it 40 yards for a TD late in the second quarter. I saw it on Fox Sports SW-it look just like Bo Levi throwing picks to DLM

Then linebacker Mason Deerinwater scooped up a Johnson fumble and returned it 28 yards to start the second half scoring.

Jeremy Johnson was only 3 for 4 but with 122 yards- a whopping 40 yards per toss including 1 TD for 59 yards to Rickey Collins. He added 6 carries for 91 yards rushing -15 yards per attempt including the first two TDs of 73 yards and 5 yards. Rickey Collins had 2 catches for 108 yards including the 59 yard TD catch and added 3 yards rushing on 1 carry. TJT threw only 4 passes all nite

For the season, Rickey Collins has 13 catches for 424 which is just about 33.5 yards per catch. They rarely throw the ball in the 2nd half because they have had big leads each week. Fox Sports SW showed the 59 yard TD-kinda looked like Aldrick getting 4-5 yards past DB but had to wait for an otherwise well thrown ball to catch up.

For the season, Jeremy Johnson has 68 carries for 671 yards-just about 10 yards per carry which is amazing for a QB in 5A considering sacks after deducted. Because of his height I'm thinking that Johnson will mostly play receiver at SMU (maybe an occassional Wild Mustang) but add Rickey Collins, Jeremy Johnson and Darius johnson together and I think we've got a pretty good nucleus of great young receivers-it took about 18-20 WRs but those 3 all look like the type of home run threats we need to run the Run and Shoot.

All in all its so refreshing to see such great athletes committing to the program.....there is nothing but good to have so many fast players coming here....its speeds up the whole team and the scout teams as well. I remember a few years ago when we couldn't even practice what the next team would be running because we didn't have enough (or any??) fast players to replicate their offense or defense in the practice sessions....

its a [deleted] recruiting players other teams really want isn't it. Its so much easier getting kids who don't have alternatives. Again, just as with Darius Johnson June Jones and his offense have a great deal to offer a receiver prospect. If he excells he can catch 18 passes in one game or 250 yards in a game. This is not common at most schools. If SMU can't sell that kind of opportunity then we've got big trouble. We held onto Darius-they need the sell Johnson/Collins on the same opportunity.
