Offensive line

Postby Pony4Life » Sun Sep 13, 2009 9:03 am

Strong showing by Mitch Enright and the big boys up front. UAB played more guys close to the line of scrimmage than I expected early on — apparently they heard about what McNeal did last week — but he still ran pretty well with limited running room and the guys kept Bo Levi upright for most of the day.

Nice work, o-line!

This group has done a really superb job. BLM hasn't been under much pressure. BLM has had plenty of time especially given the number of longer routes we run. Very few sacks allowed and opening holes for a running game that has been anemic for two years. And they are doing it with young people and new people. O line work isn't easy and usually takes a couple of years to develop solid lineman. We have a respectable line developed in less than two years. And they can and hopefully will get much better as the season goes on.

I would say the defense and O line are the two biggest improvements so far this year.
