How much info will Hawaii give us?

Postby PonyTime » Sun Sep 13, 2009 2:03 pm

Just curious, but you have to think that JJ will be able to get some serious insight into Hawaii's win over WSU this past weekend.

Didnt Hawaii play them at sea level while we will be playing them at several thousand feet? Wonder if that will make a difference

I am sure you will get whatever information you ask for
we all know JJ has left for awhile and will eventually end up back in Hawaii to retire
McMackin and JJ are very close friends and there will be no holding back on info (at least until December)

if things go as planned, we will see you all in Hawaii at Christmas time

What secret does he need to know? Pass the ball. Washington State's defense is awful. You only need to look at Hawaii's stats to know that. It ain't rocket science.

You don't need any information. Your receivers (if they got even just a little bit of speed) will kill Wazzu. They're awful, the worse I've seen in a long time.

If June Jones doesn't win this game, he should be fired!

Sounds like Aldrick Robinson could have a field day as BLM's target.

All your starting receivers should have a career day for stats. If SMU can limit their turnovers, this should be an SMU blow-out. Hawaii fumbled three times inside the Wazzu 10 yard line and should have hung 60 on them. JJ should hang about 70 on Wazzu if all things go right....

Warbow,

It sounds like Wazzu is awful but this is still a young SMU offense. I'll be happy if Bo Levi and company can recreate what we did yesterday against UAB. I think we win this one but tap the breaks on SMU dropping 70 on anyone.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Wazuu had NO pressure on Hawaii's QB, they went with three down linemen with no blitz's. No pressure on the QB against a R & S offense spells, trouble. If they use the same defensive scheme, BLM will have a field day. Your subs will be in the game by the middle of the third quater. I'll bet my house on it.

Youth and inconsistency on Offense so far keep it close. If we limit turnovers, eliminate penalties, play aggressive and smart defense, continue strong special team play, then we cover the line.

Hawaii has a history of success and a mindset that is consistent with winning. WE are not there yet.

I want to win and have a strong win. But I fear we get overconfident and play a SFA type game and don't get breaks.

Increase intensity, improve on the little things and convert 3rd downs while eliminating turnovers and we win. But forget the blow out talk. We aren't there yet.

I don't think you'll need all of that to cover the spread. Maybe the "play aggressive and smart defense", maybe! Here's some Hawaii stats.

Fumbles: Number-Lost 4-4
Penalties: Number-Yards 12-120
Average Yards Per Punt 4 for 25.2

If you knew the year we won our last out of conference road game you would keep your casa out of it.
