Ole Miss game for me as well...Ole Miss fans actually started leaving the Cotton Bowl thinking it was over, then we give up 20 something points in the 4th quarter to lose. Of course, the ultimate is Basketball, the team had a pretty good season and we had the #4 team in the nation beat with only .2 seconds left. If we won we could have been in the WAC semis and probably would have locked up an NIT berth. Instead we give up a miracle tip in at the buzzer. I get really worried when the newbies and sunshiners start proclaiming how many games we should win, or make comments like "no way we go 2-10".....believe me, it can happen. Everyone should stay humble, be thankful for what we have done, and do not talk up or expect great things in the future...surest way to jinx a losing program.

Oh here's good one. Leading Texas A&M at Kyle Field with what :38 seconds and A&M needing touchdown to win and 70 yards away. 3 passes later including an unbelievable acrobatic catch by Albert Connell which was actually caught out of the endzone, SMU loses on last play.

Stallion, you are correct. That was a lame call. Reciever was clearly out of bounds. If we beat WSU, we win 6 games for the season.

That was a bummer...the guy did land out of bounds first with his upper body before his legs and feet hit in bounds....too bad there was no replay back then. On a side note that was a great SMU touchdown that put us ahead...remember it being like 3rd and 12 from about 20...A&M does an all out blitz and the SMU QB throws a perfect pass to the receiver that had tight man coverage on him..was a thing of beauty!

Was in '94 and pretty sure it was in San Antone.

A & M in the Alamodome. Although the tie was great, Crosland should have made the kick.

Nope it was the following year. SMU tied Texas A&M 16-16 in San Antonio. SMU actually had a good shot to win that game but missed a last second FG. Texas A&M was No. 6 in the country that year and SWC Champs. SMU was its only loss that season

The San Antonio game was the one we tied them...the game at A&M was the won where Connell caught the phantom TD at the end of the game.

Also remember, after we missed our FG to win it, A&M put a lil drive together and tried a 70 yard field goal at the end....SMU put our best DB back there (McConnell maybe?) and he caught it about the goal and looked like he might could have scored...but when he closed in on mid field, he inexplicably cut it back towards the middle of the field where the defenders were and got tackled.

1994 vs. #13 UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Jaques Smith breaks a 70+ yard run late in the 4th quater, but gets caught from behind and tackled at about the 5 yard line. We proceed to turn a 1st and goal from the 5 to a 4th and goal from about the 20. UCLA takes over on downs and we lose 17-10.

Now I remember. The '95 Alamodome game was an SMU 'home' game.
