interesting thread of killerfrogs.com because TCU and SMU have exact opposite policies on leaving the stadium after game starts. I see both sides-but its interesting to look at it from the opposite perspective. When you boil it down, people are going to put their [deleted] in the seats when a school puts a good product on the field against strong competition. Probably won't if the product is poor and competition is bad. Based on that general observation, I'd probably lean toward changing SMU's policy. http://www.killerfrogs.com/msgboard/ind ... opic=99510

From the Froggie board:
" QUOTE(BlockinFrog07 @ Sep 16 2009, 08:47 AM) I cannot stand the fact that the attendance is already only in the low 30,000's, but when this happens, we end the game with probably half of who started out there. It's PATHETIC, in my opinion.
I'm with you Blockin, tailgating has gotten way out of hand. They should make the tailgaters that don't go into the stadium buy two season tickets if you ask me.
I go to watch the Frogs not get drunk in the parking lot. "
I can't say that would go over well aywhere.
Derail the Frogs!

Notre Dame has got this figured out. Campus security/police sweeps and closes down the entire tailgate area right before kickoff, running everybody into the stadium. Or so I hear.

Probably not that hard when people actually want to go into the stadium

You have as many opinions on this as there are people. I for one like it the way that it is at TCU. I think TCU also has a lot more parking close to the stadium for tailgating than SMU does. We still all fight the small attendance and do what we can to increase it, different approaches- not sure what the results will be. We are still sitting at about 32-33K avg. attendance. I look for that to increase when we play Tech, LSU, and Baylor at home, but there just ain't that many of us( students and alums). And most of the townies aren't willing to join in.
