I don't think they have more speed on the track field, but they did have more speed on the football field. I don't think their guys are bigger, our LB corps had 60 lbs on theirs easy. Our DL and there's was a wash, as was our OL. Our receivers were bigger as well. I think they started looking bigger and faster to our players every time they scored.
That being said, I think we SHOULD win. I think they have every right to expect a win, though, and we cannot afford "tackling miscues," etc. Also, the coaches need to take some responsibility as well, and call the right defenses.

A few thoughts to keep in mind:
#1 Currently, I think Hawaii has a lot more speed than us.
#2 I think Hawaii also had a size\conditioning advantage. That's how it looked from my seat.
#3 Yes, June Jones is at SMU. But he hasn't recruited that size and speed yet. Certainly not four classes worth. They may run the same scheme as Hawaii, but they won't feature shifty receivers piling up huge yards after catch like Hawaii did. They won't come out and pop our players in the mouth the way Hawaii did, becuse they simply don't have that attitude yet.
#4 I began my university career at SMU and have more than one friend that is a current SMU season ticket holder. Their team might expect to win, but their fans aren't entertaining that illusion. At least not yet.
SMU could very well beat us. But if they do, we're not going to see a repeat of saturdy or anything like it. SMU simply doesn't have the hosses yet. Now two years from now....
