Mustangs in Pullman

Postby kull » Thu Sep 17, 2009 6:55 pm

Just met 3 old-timer mustang fans in pullman for the game. Early supper with good people, steak and whiskey is hard to beat.

SmooBoy..remember those ice cold plates at the salad bar?!

and Cantina Laredo...Pssst...quess who owns Cantina Laredo and purchases
their steak meat?....III Forks!

Yes, the ice cold plates, the brown bread loaf with butter, all with the lights dimmed. Always was one of the quietest places to go.

The marinated steak was called the 'Kensington Club'....I remember as I worked there when i went to SMU....that steak was so good...I hated wearing those damn maroon sappy shirts though

that is what is was called. The original Kensington Club marinade had a deliteful flavor profile. The recipe on line will get you close and is a late version of the recipe at Steak and Ale.

Ponyscott, I worked there also in the late 60's, primarily at the Northwest Highway location (just east of Central). I worked until I dropped a baked potato loaded with butter and sour cream on Norman Brinker's lap. The manager gave me the heave ho that night.
