I think the Steak and Ale @ Beltline and Tollway-Montfort was open up until about a year ago. Still when I went a couple of years ago it didn't seem quite the same. It was ok, but not great.

The LBJ/Skillman locale was the last I visited, and it had lost its magic before closing.

It definitely declined over the last 10 years of its existence. The last time I went, the bread and salad bar were still good, but the steak was a little tough. Shame. Sad, sad shame.

I, on the other hand, worked at Cheddar's while in college. I served more Chicken Fried Steak than I care to remember. I once had a guy come in and order CFS, and his 2 sides were fries and mashed potatoes. His wife told him that he should order a vegetable, and he responded "I got potatoes!". Ah, nothing like serving your local rednecks.

PonyUp.

I don't know. The Point burger and two bloody mary's at 1st and 10 this afternoon really hit the spot.

Thank you. I try harder so you don't have to. I'm like a rental car company in that respect.
