week 1 at Texas Tech

week 2 TCU

week 3 Washington State.

Call me crazy, but I think we may stand a chance in that TCU game. Isn't Andy Dalton going to be gone? Frogs usually take awhile to break in a new QB. This defense will drive them crazy.

And we will beat WSU next year, if we don't beat ourselves.

I think he is a Junior this year. And they took A 5.9 4 star last year. Had offers from Florida and Notre Dame. So he will be a redshirt freshman

Never mind that then.

SMU under Ron Meyer plus some Top 10 Recruiting Classes

3-8
4-7
4-6-1
5-6
8-4

This is often how long a rebuilding job takes. Now this Conference sucks so we might go to a bowl before but we also need to improve our recruiting to stick with TCU, UH etc. I bet SMU is not what can truly be called a strong football team until at least Year 5. I get criticism all the time but I swear I have more patience than many who dump on the team after a tough loss. Put it in perspective.

Recruit well for 2-3 years and count to 3 or 4 from the first good class. I think the 2008 Class is going down in shambles except for Banjo and Thompson and perhaps Mitchell-we'll see. I thought 2009 was a step in the right direction. Still have a long way to go to compete with TCU and top teams in CUSA

Jones has publicly stated that we are a couple of recruiting classes away from being able to compete with quality football programs. Let's call it 2011 at the earliest, but the schedule favors 2012 with 7 home games
