The progression of our offense

Postby CalallenStang » Mon Sep 21, 2009 9:57 am

We got one good quarter against SFA, a good half against UAB, and almost 3 quarters of good play against WSU.

Do we finally play a full game at a high level against TCU, or does this team revert to the sorriness we saw on the field against the Lumberjacks?

It would be a setback and very disappointing if we don't play well and compete for four quarters against TCU. WE have an open date and two weeks to heal the wounds and prepare for TCU. It is just a short jaunt down the road so it is almost like a home game in that respect. The guys will look forward to playing the Frogs becuse of their ranking and everything to gain and nothing to lose attitude. Meanwhile, TCU will have a regular week after playing at Clemson against a very good team which should be very physical but also an exciting enviroment for the frogs with a big crowd on hand. You would expect a letdown against SMU in spite of Patterson's pleas and excellent coaching.

Getting healthy is huge. Not sure it will make a difference against a stronger deeper TCU team, but if Al and Darius were 100% maybe BLM makes better decisions at WSU.

And it sounds like BLM needs a week to get healthy himself

"Mitchell played despite an infection in his small intestine, which happened separately from the injured ribs and flu he's suffered this season."

tcu's defense is going to annihilate us. no doubt about it.

I hope its not that bad, we hung around with them ok two years ago at Fort Worth. It wasn't embarrasing by any means. Although after the collapse Saturday, I must say its hard to look forward to tcu and what realistically appears to be the goal of a moral victory at best. Its gonna be a long off week coming of WSU loss and looking up the mountain at the Froggies.

It's likely to be a defensive battle both ways. The real question is can our offense keep their defense off the scoreboard?

I think the game is going to be closer than we/they think. I dont think we will be able to pull it out but its gonna come down to the 4th quarter.
