I honestly feel like our defense, if they play like they did last week, gives us a chance in every game if we avoid turnovers. Even the Houston game. And Houston is ridiculously loaded.

ECU has been competitive playing strong football teams on the road. SMU hasn't played a strong football team yet. How do you think SMU would do against OU. I think SMU will be a longshot to win either game especially Tulsa on the road.

aren't we as woeful against Tulsa on the road as we are against Rice on the road?

Not really I distinctly remember Freiburger and also Flanigan leading SMU to wins in Tulsa. Rice Stadium is where SMU dreams go to die

for whatever reason, we've been successful against Tulsa and have been very competitive even in the losses. If we are going to surprise someone on the road, my bet is it would be Tulsa. Unless I see a big improvement from them, our best chance to win another road game should be at Marshall

Can our cash-strapped athletic department even afford to send the team to a bowl game if it makes it to one? Don't most schools lose money going to the "lesser" bowl games?

Sorry to disappoint you, but yes. If we qualify, we'll be there. That includes me, too. If we make a bowl, I don't care if it's on the outer ring of Saturn ... I'll be there.

Our athletic department is cash-strapped? Come on. We've got boosters paying JJ $2 mil/year. We aren't Eastern Michigan (check out the size of their endowment).

We play Marshall at Marshall, it will be cold and damp, Marshall has a running back with the following two games stats: C Yds Avg. Virginia Tech L 52-10 17 109 6.4 Bowling Green W 17-10 21 186 8.9 Stop him and SMU wins, do not stop him and it could be a long cold day.

I'm still pissed that they somehow blew that game in 2007. How on earth they blew it, I will never know. The people next to my car got a long/loud scream right after the game.
