Auburn adds Juco big man...
By Van Coleman [email protected]

Jeff Lebo and his Auburn staff have received a commitment from fast rising juco big man Adrian Forbes...

According to various sources the Auburn Tigers have added a third commitment to their class of 2010 in 6-8 230-pound shot blocking juco big man Adrian Forbes from Trinity Valley CC, TX.

The athletic big man averaged 6.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and just over two blocks an outing as a freshman, but blew up this summer playing for the Jamican National team in helping to lead them to the Carribean Championship. He has excellent hands and good bounce that lets him finish in the paint, but it is his ability to block shots and rebound that will let him see PT next fall with the Tigers.

He chose Auburn over interest from Oklahoma State, TCU, SMU, and Rutgers this summer.

Even with the new coaching additions we do not seem to be able to successfully recruit from the DFW area. Oh well, another nail in Doh's coffin.

GO PONIES!!!

If we didn't offer the kid, which I am not sure from "interest" whether we did or not, then we didn't "swing". You have to swing in order to swing and miss.

Also, when we picked up Luttman (JUCO averaging 5pts and 5reb but bigger- 6'11 240) the board was all over Doherty for what was deemed as a terrible signing. Does this kid's extra 1 ppg and lack of 3 inches in height that Luttman has make you think he is somehow a much better prospect?

I just don't get the idea of seeking out and creating reasons to dump on someone (Doherty). I think the bball team will be pretty good this season and I am sure most of the people on here will try to find reasons why Doherty should get no love for that.

Forbes' numbers were frosh juco numbers, not soph. Luttman's 5 & 5 were soph numbers. Also, one is a center, the other a PF that can swing to SF. No doubt about it, Luttman looks good in the airport, but the verdict is out on his game. Forbes had high major interest.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

I hope Luttman can fill the roll of the banger we so desperately need in the low post; most of our "bigs" seem more comfortable on the wing shooting 3's. Otis has a knack around the hoop, but I'd like to see his attitude on a guy about 3 inches taller
