I also did not advertise that I was an SMU alum. I did not even wear my class-ring. Not because I was embarrassed by our football program but because I was very angry that the university stopped a group of passionate alums from taking action against the NCAA (on SMU's behalf) for selective enforcement of their rules. Like many I never stopped hoping and believing- always to end up disappointed. I did however wear an SMU soccer shirt because they used to be a very successful program. Now I can once again wear football regalia and not be laughed at. We may take a few years but I believe we will once again rise to national recognition.

Wow, what a great idea Stallion. However, I suspect there will be some on this board dying for recognition who will proceed to have even great breakdowns just for recognition (which of course could be funny in and of itself). But I think the award should be the Grumpy Old Woman of the week award, and the Moderator will put a picture of picture of Kathy Bates in Misery (not the hot tub picture that's patented by Dooby) as their Avatar for the week.
