So, I listened to the WSU game and then turned it off, watched the second half of Return of the Jedi with my kids and helped my wife out. I didn't get around to checking this board until about midnight last Saturday. What I saw was so ridiculously over the top I just shut the computer down and went to bed. Haven't been back on the board until just now.
Last time I looked, SMU was 2-1. I had that game down as a loss before the season and said we shouldn't win the game the day before. I still look at this season and see the very real possibility that SMU acheives its goals. Beat UTEP, Rice and Tulane at home; beat Marshall on the road, and SMU goes bowling.
I am all for criticizm (Hell, it was all I did on the blog), but this board is over the F'ing top. BLM threw the game away and Jones didn't properly reign his QB in during the 4th quarter. They screwed up. Can't really say much more than that given that I never saw 1 second of the game with my own eyes. I still have a heck of a lot more faith in them then the alternatives.
Sorry if you thought this was going to be easy. We already doubled last year's win total and we are going to at least do so again over the next 9 games. Come in off the F'ing ledge.
Contrary to the suggestions of some, I think I will go to the TCU game (assuming I can find someone to take care of my wife and kids) and see what happens. I will either be at Pappas' Burgers or Railhead before the game. I will be the one wearing the Red SMU Adidas hat. Come by and say, "Hi" and tell me I am an F'ing idiot.
And yeah, Kathy is back.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

People are upset because this game was OVER. How did you have this game as an automatic loss? WSU is the worst team in that conference and seeing this game live in Pullman backed that up. It's great to look back right now and say, "Hey we are 2-1." We won't be saying that if we needed that 6th or 7th win to get in a bowl at the end of the year. Rice might be the only team we play the rest of this year that is worse than WSU.

I think it was easy for us to have this game as a loss before the season. We hadn't won a game on the road since '06 against Tulane. We lost to following powerhouses on the road: Arkansas StateUTEP ECU RICE TCU Southern Miss Tulsa UH Memphis Navy

I had this game as a loss because it was on the road across the country against a BCS conference team that was going to have the advantage of playing its previous two games at home and the added advantange of playing Hawaii the week before and getting to see the exact same offense. Also, our record against the worst team in a BCS conference hasn't been that great, either (See: Baylor). I am not saying people don't have a right to be upset. I was upset, too. However, I am not screaming for anyone's head or suggesting some sort of boycott based on the performance in a game that I heard on the radio.

I said it before the game and I will say it after the game...that Baylor team that we played a few years ago, while bad, is 5 times better than the Washington State team we just played.

Hell Yeah to the underlined words! And people are not upset we lost. People are upset because we absolutely dominated the entire game and then threw 4 int's in a row to let a team that wasn't anywhere near as good as us, or deserving of that win, to come back and beat us in such a demoralizing way. I have never seen a game just handed over like that! People wouldn't have been [deleted] had it been a good close game throughout and they just happened to be the better team to pull out the win in the end. I figured we would lose too. But the fact is the team had that game won. But one person handed over... and then handed it over again... then again... and wait one more time... I love JJ. But coaching played a big part in that loss. And we may really regret losing it if we end up 6-6! Not to mention all the momentum it lost us. From reading some practice reports on the other websites it sounds like practices this week have been sloppy. And all the publicity a 3-0 SMU team would have had!

Water under the bridge boys, water under the bridge.
Or as my smart@ss UT wife sometimes tells me, cry me a river, build me a bridge, AND GET OVER IT.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

I like it.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

A CE would, of course. Don't you have to stand under the bridge the first time somebody crosses it?
