same question could be asked about BLM... JJ knows talent?

Good article on Rivals regarding Kaiser's lack of impressive stats this season and why they might be misleading. I'd be curious to know Stallion's refutation of the story's premise and why June Jones is wrong in his evaluation of Kaiser...

I just report his stats-loser. If you don't want to keep up with his stats then don't read my updates. When an SMU recruit performs spectacularly I don't see you complain about my spectacular game update reports. I put very little slant on my recruit updates-their numbers speak for themselves. I've never even said Kaiser was a bad recruit-I like his long term potential as long as he redshirts. About as close to an opinion I have on my game updates is that I'd like to see him improve his accuracy since he was a 47% passer last year and 46.15% this year and that he is going to need to redshirt because he is not running a passing offense-about 7 completions a game-those are facts.

After reading the report I'm really having difficulty understanding what your talking about-the report and I both said he might have bad receivers dropping passes-that's about it. I dare you to find one misrepresentation in any of my recruiting reports on Kaiser. I'll be waiting. Otherwise, stay off my recruiting reports if you don't like them and shut the hell up. You are out of line with your "straw-man" argument that I have to refute anything or that I disagree with June Jones. I have absolutely no agenda on Kaiser, I have posted just about all the game reports I could find about just about every SMU recruit for about a decade.

I still wonder why we are unable to just skip all this "well here's why his stats are this" and "he played for a primarily running team in HS, but he's accurate" stuff and bring in some kid who passes for 4000 yards, 20+TDs, and completes 58% or more of his passes. There's got to be a boatload of kids like that in Texas. Someone like the current KU QB who was too short to play at UT but wound up in Lawrence...you'd think we would be landing kids like that now.

Padron would have had all the numbers if he'd have stayed healthy. Padron 129-193 (67%)for 1,550 yards and 18 TDs-he showed ourtstanding mobility for a tall kid with 297 yards rushing and 6 more TDs in about 4 1/2 games.

In the run and shoot the qb has to be able to make certain-type throws down the field. A lot of the high school qbs have good stats due to the offensive schemes but they do not have the arm strengh to excel in the run and shoot offense. JJ brought in a lot of qbs to his camps that had great stats but Kaiser must have a stronger arm than a lot of those qbs. The run and shoot is different than a lot of the spread offenses because the run and shoot is a more vertical offense. We are lucky to have JJ as coach and he has a proven track record of success. He is not going to bring in a qb just because he has good stats if he cannot make the necessary throws to run the run and shoot. Willis was not a fit for the run and shoot for this reason - lack of arm strength. For what it is worth, Kaiser attended a few national qb camps and did well. We are lucky to have him coming to SMU.

sold. Stay healthy, gain some weight, and we'll see you next year. As an added bonus, we'll have AR, the Truth, Wilkerson and hopefully Haynes who have all had 2-3 years to learn how to run good routes.

relax. i actually enjoy most of your reviews though I think you often draw unsupportable conclusions based off stats alone since it seems you never see any of these guys in person

To be fair to Stallion I have not seen anything downing Kaiser. Keep the info coming.

Hopefully Kaiser will be a great backup for Padron. If Kyle can keep his redshirt and grow into his frame he should be able to keep Kaiser off the field for his first four years.

So are you saying Padron starts next year over Bo and McDermott?

Not necessarily. It just means that I think Padron will be in front of Kaiser for the first four years he is a Mustang. As to whether or not he'll supplant Bo and beat out McDermott... I think that with a redshirt year and a whole Spring and Summer in the program he may very well do that. If nothing else it should be a good competition and the first time that we'll have two JJ QBs going against each other.

Agree 100% with this post, not so much with you are 'sold' on Pardon post.

I would have expected 3 quality QBs by now, Pardon being the lowest of the 3.

JJ is being paid $2M a year for his RnS skills...not his defense acumen and clearly not for his Game Day Experience expertise. I want a higher profile QB.
