McNeil did comment that he was looking at TCU when he was transferring. I don't think TCU wanted to take 6 RBs in one class.

I think you are correct about this.

I believe that to be true as why wouldnt he look at TCU if he was coming back to DFW...its the 'we have 4 better RB's than him' comment that got me...

TCU did offer him a scholarship though. At least according to this interview with Patterson anyway.

Yes. As a transfer I think Patterson told him something like "You're welcome to come, but we don't have a scholarship for you at the moment."

Reading comprehension. That's not what Patterson said. He said they offered McNeal coming out of HS, but by the time he wanted to transfer from Miami, TCU was already stocked at RB and had no room for him. So we didn't "offer McNeal a scholarship to try and get him to transfer to TCU."

Also, I'm not quite sure how this equates to Patterson "dissing" McNeal. We wanted him initially, but by the time he was ready to come, scholarship logistics had closed the window of opportunity.

If that's your idea of "dissing," you're pretty hard up for bulletin-board material.
