I'm sure an analyst that accurately reflects what is going on in recruiting for the last 20 years concerns the Coaching Staffs, ADs and the Administration we've had since the DP. That was the POINT!!!!!!!!! All these guys have been blowing hot air up your [deleted] from 1989-2008. They should have been exposed as full of crap. But none of you guys wanted to jeopardize your chance at being Seargent in Arms of the Mustang Club. Only at SMU with fans totally clueless as to what was necessary to build a winning program would this have lasted 18 years. So congratulations, you still have a shot at Seargeant in Arms but just remember they are playing under a system that addressed every single one of those criticism and each of those coaches got FIRED! And Then cried that basically I was right.

And a list with 7 journeyman NFL Players over 20 years confirms the the accuracy of the analysis.

Seriously, do you REALLY think you were the only one that knew our model was flawed? Really??? But, if it wasn't for all of the die hard cheerleaders, working their tails off (for free) for the SMU MUSTANG CLUB, this program might not exist right now. Many people have worked hard to keep this thing afloat, until changes were gradually and painfully made, to allow SMU to compete. And for the love of Doak Walker, you had absolutely ZERO to do with the changes made, ZERO! You need to visit Dr Debbie, you would be a career case for her. See ya tonight, GO STANGS!

Stallion you are working on your wrong and biased conclusions...
This clearly a case of you falling victim to Simpsons Paradox......Simpson's Paradox is caused by a combination of lurking variable and data from unequal sized and un-correlated groups being combined into a single data set. The unequal group sizes and un-correlated groups in the presence of a lurking variable, can weight the results incorrectly. This can lead to seriously flawed conclusions. The obvious way to prevent it is to not combine data sets of different sizes and un -correlated information from diverse sources.

You can't look at different regimes and AD's, coaches and SMU presidents and combine them and come up with a finate correlation. You must look at the current regime and make your conclusions from that as the previous information has too many variables....

How about that? Work with me here.....

Dr. Debbie really should purchase banner ad space on this site. There are enough delusional and angry people on here to keep her practice full of patients on her couch. I fear the day SMU actually has a winning record because some of these folks may commit suicide.

ponyscott-seriously how the hell would know-you only signed up in 2008 which isn't the period we are talking about.

I had a phone call from a recruiting coordinator one time-we had a nice discussion about these issues for about 30 minutes. He never said I was wrong about a single issue I was posting about-although he confided in me a couple of points I hadn't yet identified. He stated the problems I identified were real and negatively affected SMU's ability to compete. He wanted me to take it easy-I told him some day both the Head Coach and the Recruiting Coordinator would likely be fired and a new Coach would come in without the necessary changes-and the same meery-go-round would continue. I haven't allowed the Model to be an excuse for this program's recruiting classes in 2 years. Its not an excuse anymore.

I do think its funny that the the mysterious Alex can claim that I had nothing to do with changes at SMU. And yet Head Coaches, ADs and the Administration have been so concerned about my comments on an SMU public forum where the SMU Community comes to discuss issues on athletics. No one published more on the topic, wrote earlier on the topic, identified the specific problems with the program, wrote more exhaustively on the topic, knew more about Division 1A recruiting standards and prospects and supported his opinions with more facts and evidence than me. If all I did was educate SMU fans on the website where SMU fans come to discuss SMU athletics then I'm satisfied with my contribution-because I know that when SMU tried to dismantle the SMU football program at least I didn't just roll over and take it and go buy Cowboy and Mav tickets

Stallion does one become born and actualized when they make their first post on Ponyfans? WTF you think we were all under a rock until we actually sign up for ponyfans?....get a grip.....I have been following SMU since I was a student in the late 70's.....and been in the Mustang Club since 79.........don't get all puffy and important because you have been on Ponyfans longer than some posters here...it has nothing to do with anything just as your conclusions based upon old philosphies from previous and long gone administrations. We will simply have to agree to disagree......
