Bo Runs Out of Gas Again

Postby Stallion » Sun Oct 04, 2009 4:35 am

If Bo started 9-14 as I read then that means he was 8-24 with 2 Ints after that. Finished 17-38. He is really running out of gas in the Second Half of our games

Agreed...I wonder what Bo's percentages are in the first half and then the second half of ALL games this year and we will see a big pattern. And is it he runs out of gas, or when the defense adjusts in the second half to his patterns does Bo not adjust to their defensive schemes?

Running out of gas or the fact that he's just not a very good qb. It's sad we have no on else ready to play because I have little doubt that BLM will return as the starter next year. And while it is getting more tempting every game to play Padron because of BLM's ineptness I don't see JJ playing him this year. And please no more about how Padron isn't ready-BLM looks ill prepared every game not to mention seeming to lack confidence[especially in his reads]. He has shown little if any improvemnet in his game this year and the stats show this. And is anyone else getting really tired of this[run and shoot] offense?

As much as I agree with you, I wouldn't bet on seeing anyone else other the BLM. After the game got out of reach, should we not have seen Smith for the last series? If JJ would make a change there I cannot imagine him pulling BLM.

its time to have a two QB system. let Bo go in the first and bring in help for the second. alternate series. create competition. let the gun slinger know this is not acceptable.

Was Aldrick in the game last night? I don't remember seeing his number on the field. That could have had some impact on Bo because he was locked on ES quite a bit which made it easier for TCU to cover?

Not only is he running out of gas but from the time he throws his first interception, his confidence shattered. He immediiately started either short arming the ball or throwing it way out of reach of the receiver to keep from throwing an INT. Before he got scared, he was putting together a good workmanlike game with no panic and good accuracy and control.

Too bad his deterioration, poor kickoff/punt coverage and a few mistakes ruined the best defensive effort we've had in years. We were hanging with a vastly more talented team. Fortunately, our schedule's easier going forward...

Saw Bradley Haynes quite a bit. Maybe he was playing in his place. By the way, Haynes had a few great downfield blocks for Sanders.

Aldrick was visibly frustrated several times coming off the field. Especially when BLM threw into double or even triple coverage and AR was single covered.

Disagree- all of the C-USA teams we will play can obviously see the way to beat us is to frustrate Bow-levi. They know that once they get him a little rattled that victory is only a short time away.
I am afraid this will be a very long season for us (again). :x

The first half was a pretty good effort by our Mustangs besides a tcu punt return for a touchdown. The second half looked like the Mustangs ran out of gas after our tcu fumble recovery and run to the tcu 1 was called back.Bo had two second half picks and a SMU fumbled punt return on our 21 yard line lead to easy tcu points. The game ended another blowout 39-14 with tcu at our 1 yardline again at the end.

I hear you but all of our competitors already knew that. Unfortunately, in any pass first offense, good qb play is necessary (look at Tech when Potts got replaced)

I think we can say even JJ was disapointed (yet again) with the offense based on the post game comments. Bo and his interceptions are wearing on him as well.

If he truly has lost 20 lbs recently, I suspect that has a lot to do with him 'running out of gas'
