Right vs. wrong

Postby giacfsp » Sun Oct 04, 2009 1:03 pm

It didn't affect the final score, but I had a problem with Patterson going for the touchdown — especially by throwing the ball — in the final minute. Sure, TCU beat us, and I know he had reserves in. But at that point in the game, you take a knee, or at the very least, you run the ball and if you score, so be it. But he should have had his QB take a knee.

Congrats to the TCU players on winning the game and your 4-0 start, but your coach is a classless jerk. I also liked how he cried at the refs when Zach Line blocked one of his guys — legally — after congratulating his guy for making the exact same block a couple of drives before.

Just another reason to dislike the toads.

Right. TCU is in running for BCS. They didn't invent the system-just playing within the guidelines. Please don't claim TCU was trying to run up the score. No cry-babies. TCU was playing within its system, with back-up players and MOST IMPORTANTLY-did not call any timeouts to score the extra TD. Cowboy Up in honor of T-Boone Pickens.

Frog fans I was watching with were screaming at him to run one last play and he did not, when I think he had the time. I didn't have a problem with GP

Stallion is right on on this one for sure. The bcs-BS created this mess & it forces teams to be "classless" - if you will. Sad but TCU did what was needed to win & look good in the polls. That's the new way of business in college football. TCU didn't invent it, the NCAA did.

Running up the score is nothing new and has been going on since the very first college football game. You have to give the backups game play experience. We should stop complaining about running the score up. Lets just get better and then lets be the one running up the score.

I'll have to watch the game back, but I sure didn't see a pass in the final drive. Our (backup) QB dropped back to pass but it was a designed QB draw. If they passed one time, oh well. Patterson was running the ball 99% of the time there, had removed our top QB and top THREE running backs, had the second-string O-line in, and let the clock die before scoring an easy TD at the end that would have covered and made the final look better for the pollsters.

I don't know how much more class you expect out of your crosstown rivals that are in the process of trying to get to a BCS or even NC game.

It's funny how the bcs-BS Cartel keeps dangling that carrot out in front of everyone else as if they really have a chance to get into a play-off game. LOL!!! How absurd!!! What a joke & an insult & no one is willing to do anything about it!!!

either the Texas Bar Journal or American Bar Journal had a really good article on the BCS recently. Consenus of the cited experts in antitrusr law was that it was a naked restraint of trade and a per se anti-trust violation. Legal action is the only realistic hope to change the BCS.

my understanding is that the action brought by the MWC was spearheaded by an outstanding attorney from Utah. Did that action not take the anti-trust approach?

MWC waited until the day before they had to sign the new BCS contract and then folded so they could reap the financial benefits of the BCS Contract. Never filed lawsuit.

You're right - Stallion. Dead right! It is what it is & no one is willing to do anything about it. All the non-BS-bcs schools sit arount losing their collective [deleted] monitarily & expect us alums to keep picking up the tab for their mismanagement & lack of leadership to fight these crooks!!! I, like many, have cut back on my Mustang Club donations & it ain't because of the economy.

If they, whoever that may be, ever decided to raise a slush fund to pay the lawyers to fight this cartel, I like so many others in this country would be sending in the cash left & right! My gosh!!! If all the alums & supporters from the non-cartel schools sent in $25 each to fight the cartel, there would be more than enough dough to wage a battle & WIN! An incredible war chest could be raised!!!

Soooo, what's the wait???
