I really tried to watch the entire field last night and see what options Bo had. On numerous occasions we had at least one, sometimes multiple players running free and open. Bo is just not seeing it. Terrance Wilkerson "might" be our best WR this year. He was running open down field all night. He would drop his head after a Bo pick or incompletion b/c he knew he had six. I'm not convinced Bo could hit him in the open field though.

The biggest play of the night for me was when our defender dropped the sure pick six. Not sure who it was, maybe someone can help me out. We need some of those this year because our O might not score many points.

Brian McCann sniffed out the WR screen, knew exactly what play they were running, jumped the route and was thinking 6 before he caught the ball. That would have been a huge play..he did everything right except catch the ball. We need to make those plays in order to beat good teams.

That's right.

I remember seeing the play develop and I was thinking I hope we jump the route. I saw McCann do it and was pleasantly surprised. I then proceeded to fall to the ground in agony and think "typical SMU".

The man is an outstanding coach, and the reason TCU will be a Top Ten team, but he is a jerk. He has tried (hard)to get other jobs. Nobody has wanted him. Maybe this will be the year.

Surprised no one else has wanted Patterson. They will after this year. He is about to get a big pay raise if they continue to play well.

I think he wouldve fared better at atm than has Sherman.

Game turned around right after McCann dropped the interception. TCU scored later on that possession and the game turned.

We stood by Mr. Mitchell (I think) for awhile. Gotta be tough for a parent when the whole SMU section was quite vocal about Bo playing like a shmuck.

And when the whole SMU section was correct in their assessment.

What lesson is that? Don't let your son start at QB for a D-1 program when you know he's not ready?

Uh, that would be a negative. Lot's of potential certainly. But he's not at Sanders' level. Not yet anyway. He may have more moves than Robinson, but he's not at that level either. Remember, the Robinson you saw last night was hampered by injury.

I loved it when Wilkerson mimicked getting the ball over his shoulder though. Makes you think that perhaps the players are feeling the same frustration the fans are.

bagice wrote:and to think, we ran off Justin Willis for this.....

I've been on the record as saying this was a bad decision since watching BLM in practice last fall. I have recently been made aware of some speculation that the decision to demote Willis may have had something to do with degeneration in his throwing ability. Not sure if this was due to injury or what, but according to the speculation there's a noticeable/demonstrable decrease in range and velocity his junior year from his freshman and sophomore years.

Pony_Fan wrote:"What do we have in the pipeline for QBs? I can't imagine watching this guy for another couple of years with select few moments he has followed by a lot of INT's and not good decisions.

Braden Smith doesn't have the home run potential that BLM supposedly does. But he's always been more accurate and has infinitely better touch in my book. Bo Levi tries to gun everything. So while he may not be able to gun one 50 yards down the field, I'd put my money on Braden's ability to lay one in over a receivers shoulder at 30 yards. That being said, McDermott and Padron both look like the real deal in practice, and of course, Kaiser is supposed to be the second coming of Broadway Joe if you listen to the recruiting services. (although his stats this year don't seam to support that).

PoconoPony wrote:Game turned around right after McCann dropped the interception. TCU scored later on that possession and the game turned.

Can't blame it all on BLM. McCann had a potential 14 pt. swing on that drop, and he's one of our best players. Of course, doing what Bo does makes it awfully [deleted] the other 21 guys.

orguy wrote:Patterson is about the only thing I like about TCU. The guy is a great coach.

Patterson is a flaming, classless [deleted]. He's whining because his team got schooled for a half by one of the youngest teams in the nation, who were -- for the most part -- more motivated and better prepared than his #10 ranked team. "Superbowl" my giddy aunt! If he didn't prepare his team for a dogfight, well, shame on him. We almost always play TCU tough, so if he wasn't able to get that fact across to his team, he's not half the coach he's trying to get everyone to believe he is. Watching June Jones on one sideline and Patterson on the other was like watching Tom Landry vs. Jerry Glanville.

ponyscott wrote:I thought the O line blocked well against some really good defensive ends and the D played good.
Our right tackles got schooled, but Brooks is banged up and only a sophomore and Chase is a redshirt fresh. So all in all, fairly impressive.

I hate to think we're going to have to deal with that Kerley kid next year too.

My biggest disappointment was watching BLM clown around with Dalton after the game. Of course he needed to be a good sport, shake the man's hand, etc. But after the fourth straight week of giving away or almost giving away a game and letting down his teammates, I'd think BLM wouldn't have much cause for joviality. :x
