Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quizif your point is that the players at abilene christian aren't very smart - your point is just awful. and if your point is something else - it's not very clear.
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quiz
I think the point is that ACU didn't have to deal with the restictions of a (with apologies to Stallion) dysfunctional "model" up until 2 years ago.
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quizthe more interesting point would be to check if they were at Abilene Christian because they transferred in and couldn't qualify. One of those west Texas programs had a RB that was drafted high in the Draft-but he actually was a Baylor commit who didn't qualify. Most every decent JUCO has had many more NFL players than SMU too over recent years. Many though were not second tier recruits but actually top tier recruits who went to JUCO for academic reasons.

Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop QuizCheck out Grambling. Do not know if they still have the same type of players, but they used to have more in the NFL than any other school in the nation.
I also like to listen to the NFL introductions when they have the player say his name and where he attended college. Pretty fair number state their school as "The School of Hard Knocks." All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quiz
His point was clear and correct.
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quiz
ah, you are absolutely right. can't remember the other guy's name, but the rookie WR for the Bears, Johnny Knox, listed as Abilene Christian - was a JUCO from Tyler. That makes a lot more sense now
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quizthe bears safety daniel manning also played at ACU

Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop QuizInteresting that only two are from 2000 or later. We've out-NFLed them since then, right?
Off the top of my head.... Justin Rogers Thomas Morstead DD Lee Alvin NnaBuiffe And I have a hunch Sanders, McCann, and possibly (my personal favorite dark horse) Youri Yenga will be joining that list We've never lost the tailgate.
Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop Quiz
Without thinking, you can add Keylon Kincaide and Kevin Garrett, and maybe Kris Briggs. Briggs was in camps with Green Bay and Denver, but don't know if he ever suited up on a Sunday. "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." John Wayne

Re: Ponies in the NFL - Pop QuizNnabuife was on the Raiders for at least one preseason - I'm not sure if they kept him after that, but I remember seeing him play. D.D. Lee is tough to find info on. My brother wrote this in the DC a few years ago...
http://media.www.smudailycampus.com/med ... 6921.shtml Leading me to think he was at least drafted. Googling turned up nothing for sure though. We've never lost the tailgate.
