Sorry, I'm bumping this...jt turned the page with his post and I like my idea and I want the world to read it. (Or at least the 13 or so who live on this site.) Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!
Re: And the new horses shall be called....
Or Sherwood and Clements?
Re: And the new horses shall be called....
Are we going to change our logo so the mustang has a bridle, saddle, and rider?
Re: And the new horses shall be called....I kinda like 'Bum' and 'Pickens,' but 'Ewe' and 'Nick' would still work. Spanish names aren't appropriate for a school in the USA.

Re: And the new horses shall be called....
If the "real horse" represents SMU then it means that the football team has the following qualities: 1. A broken spirit - the TWO horses have been broken so that they can be ridden 2. been fixed - the TWO new horse are geldings (for those that don't understand they means no means of reproduction) 3. don't care about tradition
Re: And the new horses shall be called....or maybe we could add the Colts insignia to our helmets. That would be so neat-o Wally-give us a real professional look. Golly Gee this is so cool.

Re: And the new horses shall be called....Well now that you mention it, are these "wild mustangs" going to be fitted with horseshoes? I am pretty sure real wild mustangs are not. Out cheerleaders already have one alternative uniform that depicts a horseshoe and it has always cracked me up for this very reason.

hasnt worked yet for Duke.
Re: And the new horses shall be called....We must always say the names together so I would recommend either P. and U., or perhaps Horse and Hit. The p.a. guy could just say "Here comes Horse/Hit onto the field."

Re: And the new horses shall be called....How about Pure De and Bull [deleted]?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Re: And the new horses shall be called....
Yo, Beav - I'm not talking about changing uniforms or really anything important in the way of tradition (at least not to me). I'm not even talking about getting rid of little Peruna. I have just always wondered (as so many others from schools who consistently give us the beat down) why we have that little cute pony who doesn't resemble a mustang, or even anything close, as our primary mascot. It's not any more "wild" than the horse Pickens gave us. You don't think little Peruna is "broken"? Gee whiz. I am a big fan of tradition. And especially SMU tradition. But I just never got the cute wittle pony bit. Sorry. Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!

Re: And the new horses shall be called....How about we call one "Burgers" and the other "Cheer"?
