2-2, I'm having faith for 5 more days, we could still have a winning record after
this weekend and we are undefeated at home this season. Sunshine, lollypops, kittens, and puppies.

I'm sorry, I must be missing something. I think we should have won at WSU- we should be 3-1. But ovrall, why are we screaming bloody blue heck? We have already won two games, one against a team that was supposed to beat us, we should have beaten WSU and we were much more competitive against TCU than than we have been in years and we still have essentially the same lack of depth and talent that took us to 1-11 last year. The defense is playing out of their minds and well above their talent level. The offense is spluttering a bit, but has managed to put up enough points to give us a chance to win. And a hand full of mistakes and we are talking the #10 team in the country to the wire.

Please do not misunderstand me, I want SMU to WIN- I wanted us to be 4-0 or a very close 3-1 at this point in the season, but I don't see how we as a fan base cannot concede that the team is improving, and if we manage to win a few more (and by my lame reckoning, I can see 2 likely-not guaranteed- but likely and the possibility that we could jump up and bite 1 or 2 more teams) and bring in more talent next year that at least the football program is headed in the right direction for the first time in a long time.

Have we forgotten how bad we have been for so long? We still aren't good, but I just do see how fans here cannot see improvement.
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!

we were 6-6 three years ago with a freshman qb. Lets not overstate the amazing progress. I'd be pretty positive though if we had an experienced qb at the helm or one that i thought was the future or even improving. We are in jeopardy of wasting the senior year of E. Sanders and we likely wont find another rb like Shawnbrey, so we could be wasting his junior and senior years if Bo aint the guy...

Greenwich I agree with you that we should feel OK with 2-2 particularly since one of the losses was to the #11 team. But, I don't feel good. I think what is depressing to me is I am not seeing improvement in our QB. Not only that it seems he unravels at about the same place in a game. If I knew it was because of his illness I would not be as depressed because he will get better now that he has his medication for the ulcer. I am just not sure. What I am afraid is the problem is choking. Using a golf analogy a guy can be shooting a great game and when he realizes he is only a few holes away from wining the tournament fall apart. This is why I am down about the future prospects.

and we were 1-11 the next year with same QB. Not to defend BLM.

thats a fact, but what is also a fact is the offensive production (points per game) was virtually the same in 2006 and 2007. Again, scoring was not really our problem that season. It was a defense full of freshman linebackers and ends. remember that memphis game among several? In any case, i agree that JWs soph campaign did not progress on the great freshman year. He also played for a lame duck coach a from about October on. all I know is I would have like to have seen him have a chance to lose the job on the field like any two year starter should. I am 95% sure we would be a better football team if JJ would have tried to groom JW and accentuate his strengths.

2-2 would be great if not for the fact that our QB gave away what would be a third win.

You can live with a loss to say TCU(ranked #11, with more talent) but you have to win the games you're favored to win especially when you have a 3 touchdown lead.

Washington State was a Missed Opportunity.

When u lose a game you're favored to win, you now have to replace that by pulling out a win you aren't expected to get(vs. Tulsa, Houston,etc.). Those wins are hard to come by. Not impossible but difficult.

I was happy to see BLM just take the sacks against TCU ,as opposed to simply panicking and throwing dumb interceptions when pressured.
