Seems logical that you'd be a huge fan of any band that plays the theme from "Patton" as part of their regular repertoire. I like "The Ballad of the Green Berets," too.

Winning would cure most of the band's problems. It is much easier for them to have a great sound when they are overflowing with members and can be selective vs desperate for warm bodies like our band. As with many things, WIN, and then you'll see what really is a problem with format and leadership, and then you can fix it.

Big Ten Pony..during this Battle over Peruna, I am your ally. However, you just don't get it about the M Band. EVERYBODY but a handful do Drum Corps stuff or as it should be know amoeba marching. It boring because everybody does it. That's what makes The Ohio State Band and the Aggie Band so different. They haven't changed their schtick in 90 years. Thye are unique and different. If we are going to be like everybody else, I say let's have no band at all.

Statler I hear the limitations that the band deals with. I really liked our band when I was here but something changed. I guess I haven't looked at them the same way after the Fiddler on the Roof mess.
That's my issue. Maybe I liked their theme and when that happened they gave up something. But I want the university to treat them right.

They're bigger, but Ohio State and Michigan are the only bands that might be better ... and that's up for serious debate. So, is anyone else concerned about ECU's über-athletic QB and big, fast defense? Me too.

Florida A&M is number one, but our Mustang Band is outstanding and distinctive. Not a knock-off. However, it does need to be bigger. 99+1, was great.

That's like comparing Apples to Oranges. At schools like Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, Grambling and FAMU, they don't come for the game...they come for the halftime shows. The football is secondary.

Correct me if I am wrong...but if we got rid of everything that had to do anything with a losing culture...we would be left with very little. Anything before the DP would have to be removed. I hope they dont ask me to return my diploma.

General Blow Hard please don't go messing with the band. It is tradition after all and I like them just the way they were when I went to SMU back in the early 80's. Sound familiar? Seems to me you are on board to mess with some traditions but not others. It is all about you.
