George S. Patton wrote:Sir, My points were well chronicled on Tuesday. I'm sure we could go down that road if you would like. Now, I'm sure that you have never ever used caps to express yourself over anything and you of course, are above it all. That's fine. Just stick with your philosophy.
Of course, if you want to take this debate a step further, I think you would agree that you were no better altering a quote with blah, blah, blah to prove your point. You're accusing me of being a bit childish. I would suggest that in this glass house, that you refrain from throwing a stone.
You have a nice day.
I guess that's supposed to be an effective deployment of the Straw Man. I've never accused you of being childish. I've accused you of poor argumentation, then I provided evidence of that poor argumentation by using sarcasm as a vehicle. Keep reaching for the stars General, you can achieve your dreams! -CoS

Sir, Your mocking tone is to be expected. And I would submit your use of attempting to be superior in this discussion is transparent.
But to play along, if you can dream it, you can do it. This country was founded on a dream but don't worry about that. My dream was to go to SMU and hey, I worked hard to achieve it. So dreams are good -- regardless of what you think of them.
Again, only you would know your actions. And if you believe that I intentionally used a straw man, I can't stop you from that. All I'm suggesting is that throughout your lifetime, you probably did do something like did earlier in this thread.
That's terrific that you like to deploy your debate skills in this discussion. I'm going to leave it at this (But of course, if you want to continue in the mocking tone, please do).
What the university is doing to Peruna is unacceptable. And I also find it unacceptable that others are either indifferent to it or supporting it. In my opinion, they're wrong too.
You have a nice day.

Of course I will. Thank your for your blessing though. It's very important to me. Yes, I thought you were intentionally shifting the focus to a point that was never made or disputed in the discussion. But I suppose you were right, and it was mere ignorance not malice. My bad. -CoS

What's the matter with some of you people? Peruna is a MAJOR part of what we do in athletics. We run him across the field after every touchdown.
The dismissiveness and even the indifference by others is really mindboggling and is also reveals they don't have any regard for anything of value.
This is a joke. Our mascot is about to be shown the door within a short period of time and for some it's just like a fart in the wind.
Louder! Make the font bigger, so you sound more credible! Say it with me: Peruna ... is ... not ... leaving. If adding these two Mustangs saves some wild animals from dog food bags and glue factories, it's not all bad.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses." ... "Hit it."

GSP, it's great to see your energy. If you want something more important to worry about, I know a few West Dallas kids who are looking for mentors.

But people are never going to agree...they dont like the start times...they dont like the Mascot...some like the new horse...some like the old horse...some like the uniform....some don't like the uniform...some like the coach ...some dont like the coach....some like the Rap intro...some dont like the rap intro....some like the white helmet...some like the dark helmet...some like the AD...some don't like the AD.....we'll never arrive....never...where everybody agrees....Some of the things said are just to get a reaction...and some of the things said are a way to release their pent up anger/frustration by getting others angry...ya know "misery loves company".
But message boards across the spectrum are often times like that...you get a real insight into what makes people tick that you normally wouldn't. You see the way people react....their true personality...and many times it ain't pretty....so yeah I agree the non-stop CryBabyBrigade make it hard to be an SMU fan....but thats just life....there are negative people at work....negative relatives....negative children....negative spouses...it's not gonna change....they're not going to change.....honestly I 100% believe if we go 6-6 this year...go to a bowl....the CryBabyBrigade is going to not go away....in fact it may get worse....hell if we go 8-4 next year..tune in..the CryBabyBrigade will find some dark cloud to carry on and on and on and on and on about.

Insane Pony Posse,
The new rap song is not an "Intro." I had hoped that the fact that it was not used as an intro in the SFA game would prove that, but apparently there are people who still refer to it as an "intro."
It's just a new rap song, and in my opinion, it's a good way to show SMU's new attitude and connect our team with the city.

Every bit of this observation is true, but take heart--at the end of the day this just makes us all normal people. It's not a bad thing....

You forgot to mention "Negative Won/Loss Records" something SMU has specialized in for 20 years. SMU has deserved more negative comments for their futility than they have gotten-the only reason they haven't gotten more negative comments is because most fans gave up long ago. This is the most unsuccessful major college football program in the country over the last 20 years. Some of us were smart enough to figure out where we were heading 20 years ago. SMU failure to put a winning team on the field and abysmal performance has nothing to do with alleged negative posters on a message board and 100% to do with its own institutional incompetence.

I did, and wished I hadn't! If anything, we should sorry for these people, their miserable, negative attitude, doesn't start and stop on this board. Look at their posting times, it's AROUND the clock, 7 days a week. How busy can they possibly be at work, how lonely in their house, this is how a couple of guys get what they obviously and desperately need, and that is attention and acknowledgement, that they do exist.
