I agree Feinstein's book is awesome. Although I wish you would choose a different epithet

Ditto

A True Sports Classic.

To imagine all the peripheral stuff they go through and still Play the Game with passion!

I'm so glad I got to watch Army v. Navy in the Rose Bowl!

Just consider this. After every Army-Navy game, the players for each team stand in unison on the field and respectfully listen to each program's alma mater. I know several of you just learned that.

So let's say, the schools decided to call it off because some political group thought it was offensive to those who died in what they term an illegal war, and the administration at both academies caved in, how do you think that would be received? There would be absolute revolt.

Staying with Army -- Navy. What if Army decided to add a Mustang to join its Mule or Navy added a lamb to join its goat? How do you think the alums and student bodies would react to it? Again, there would be absolute revolt.

Some of you identify tradition of going out partying at the local bar every Thursday night because that's about all tradition means to you.

SMU is serving as a big prostitute for this whole sham.

Patton, I know you have problems with Fiddler on the Roof show...but that was one show....that was four years ago...let it go...every great athlete has a bad game..I mean BLM has a bad game every now and then

Just remember the M Band (and their sidekick Peruna) keeps the torch lit....Keep the faith...Hubba Hubba....GO PONIES!!! 8)

This whole argument about peruna is pretty hilarious. I'm sure SMU had more school spirit/traditions 30 years ago, but having been there recently- there is almost NO school spirit and NO real school tradition. People don't even show up to the football games wearing red and blue for christ's sake. It has to do more with the kind of student that is at SMU rather than the product on the field (although I do think a winning team would improve this somewhat).

I don't want them to get rid of peruna - but i also don't think it'll make a damn bit of difference to anything if they do.

Amen, which is why the concept of adding geldings is so ridiculous. Jones, Orsini and Turner need to focus on winning football games. It simply doesn't matter who/what a powerful runs out behind. Notre Dame runs out behind a guy dressed as a munchkin. #5 Virginia Tech's mascot is a turkey. It's got nothing to do with the mascot. Leave Peruna alone and concentrate on winning the stupid games!

Glad someone mentioned the Army-Navy game. One of the many traditions associated with that game is that it is played in Philadelphia. It still is, most of the time. But sometimes it's not. Wonder how much bellyaching is going on about that. Sounds like they maitained a lot of that tradition.

I'm also wondering how much Alabama and Auburn fans have complained about no longer playing at Legion Field. That tradition was, what, an almost 50 year old tradition?
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.
