Re: HP Village SMUGood to see Ray Washburne making some postive things happen over there since buying it!
Re: HP Village SMUYes, I saw them. I went to Snider Plaza to see if they had any--No; Hillcrest--No, SMU--No, and finally Ford Stadium at Noon GAME DAY--NO!; in fact you can't even tell if there is a game today!
I can't help to compare with Ft. Worth last Saturday, purple banners, purple and white balloons, Game Day flags with SMU up on the opponent side (purple and white of course), but our physical marketing on game day is simply worse than any 1A high school in Texas. Even the stadium flags not up?? on game day?? some heads should roll. Last edited by Mexmustang on Sat Oct 10, 2009 12:40 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: HP Village SMUAgreed - you can't expect to bring in any sort of real non-SMU related crowd if you market the game less than Allen vs. Plano.
Re: HP Village SMUWay to dress up a $180 Million investment Ray!!!! That's cool and it is a total crime that Snider Plaza doesn' t have SMU flags up......they should be cited by the police department for that omission...
Re: HP Village SMUWhen they eliminated the entire marketing department, I assume the entire marketing budget went, too.
I expect the response to an inquisitive e-mail about this would be "would you like to pay for some banners and their installation?"
Re: HP Village SMUor Throckmorton (1A high school)...
Not even the SMU bookstore or Mockingbird center owned by SMU! By 4 PM they will have the "no game day parking" signs up I guess. Not even the Cullwell store...oh I forgot they provide the symbol of unity, the pony.
Re: HP Village SMUWe could win a national championship and people on here would find something to complain about.
Re: HP Village SMU
I will say that I was on 75 driving by SMUs Office Building (6060 N. Central Exp) early this morning and thought it would be great to have two large flag poles on the top of the building for large SMU flags or something to let the hundreds of thousands of cars that drive by that there is a game that weekend. That building is very visible on the hwy and large flags on top of it on game weekends would be noticed and seen for miles.
Re: HP Village SMU
You're right, just game-day jitters...
