It's late, and I'm just thankful the punt didn't get blocked. We just have to do everything the hard way Well, ECU had 1 timeout at that point so if he slides they have to take it. Why didn't some one tell him that If someone's open hit him, else slide.
May the forth be with us.

It was without question a mindless play on his part. I actually tried to defend him after it happened and Dr.V shut me down immediately.

If not sliding was his biggest mistake, then I will take it every time. Not that it matters, but that is an incredible heads up play that doesn't come naturally to any athlete. Experiences will teach him (out of curiosity, how many games at SMU have any of our QBs played where we are ahead, trying to run out the clock and need to make a play to burn the other teams finally TO?).
Face it, that was uncharted territory for Bo and SMU. Heck, it has been so long that even JJ may have forgotten that finer point.

I gaurantee you that his throwing the ball away was a direct result of the coaches riding him for the last two weeks to throw it away if he has no open receivers rather than forcing an interception. So while it was a brain-dead mistake on his part, it is mitigated to some extent by the brainwashing he's gotten recently.

Last year SMU was 1-11. And the year before that, SMU was 1-11.
When Hawaii finished 0-11, I was greatful if we went 1-11.
You guys have no idea what is actually happening right now to SMU football.
This is Texas where life revolves around football! Maybe if we lived on the islands we wouldn't care as much!

I think one of the best things about the win is we can put to rest the silly Padron to the Rescue posts. Its getting too late in the season to consider lifting Padron's redshirt. Padron redshirts and program is better in the longterm and I might add better in the short term with a more experienced QB.

i can't say it enough, don't play padron this year. we are with BLM for the good and the bad. but there really is no excuse for him throwing that ball out of bounds. good game management otherwise by bo

I saw it this way too. I felt when he had a potential good run he threw the ball because JJ doesn't want his quarterback to scramble. I like to see Bo be allowed a little more of an option if the play warrants it. Meanwhile I'm glad the kid won, he really needed a victory. The kid lost 20 pounds and has ulcers for gods sake.

He not only has ulcers he has caused a lot of ulcers. I got one when he threw it away.
I think JJ talked about his not sliding in post game. He pointed it out along with other errors that we survived. I do find it frustrating that BLM can't run when the opportunity is there rather than forcing a pass. Get three yards and slide, but I geuss that is what JJ wants.
