I always thought we should add some unique celebration noice...like a sonic boom... when we score, but always just figured the blue hairs having their tea in highland park didn't want to be disturbed and thats why it never happened.....if we go with a cannon they better gets lots of ammo ready when The Truth begins to make his mark.

Hood's Division of Longstreet's Corp!

Is that for real? I had never heard of these people (maybe I am the only one who isn't a history buff) so here's a little light reading to bring us up to speed.

Is it horse drawn?

There is no such thing. Horses have hooves and lack the opposable thumbs necessary to hold a crayon.

I know Kiki's talented, but to draw a cannon holding a crayon in her teeth?

According to a creditable source, the cannon won't be pulled by the new horses.

From the Code of Ordinance, University Park, Texas

ARTICLE 7.200 WEAPONS*
Sec. 7.201 Discharge of Firearm or Air Gun Prohibited
A person commits an offense if he discharges within the city a firearm or air or gas operated rifle or pistol. It is a defense to prosecution under this section that the discharge of such weapon was authorized by a provision of the Penal Code of the State of Texas. (Revised Code of Ordinances, 1981, Chapter 7, Section 2A)

Does a cannon qualify as a firearm, based on this?

KA's actually fired a cannon in the Cotton Bowl in the mid-60's.....when we scored.

If they fire that cannon, stay far away from those newly trained geldings...no telling what they will do. I'm not even sure what Peruna will do after a cannon blast. I think someone earlier brought up the admin's ability to screw up game presentations...this may turnout to be one of those moments.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I know that at Navy home games they have a cannon that they fire. I've heard too many times when we've played them in the past.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

That was in Dallas. University Park has it's own city ordinances.
