Those are not actual Peruna Graves. That is a memorial monument to all the Perunas. Culwell might be the only person who knows where the actual graves are located, if they even exists. I would not be surprised if our past Perunas weren't cremated.

Wasn't Peruna I hit by a car at a pep rally?

Also, pretty sure they found a Peruna or 2 burried under the field at Ownby when they built Ford Stadium
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I can't be totally accurate about this, but it is my understanding that there were if not one but a few Perunas buried under that monument when Ownby existed. I believe they did something with the bones when they tore Ownby down. Anyone know anything more?

I seem to remember being told that they dug up a Peruna that was under the 50 in Ownby and moved it to under the 50 in Ford. Apparently there were some other items officially or unofficially added in the hole, including a band beanie. Not sure where I heard this though.

NavyCrimson,

Saw the above photo some years ago while a student at SMU (77-81), and was told it was mid WWII early post-war...would fit the U.S.N. uniforms for enlisted personnel, and the auto in the background.

That 20's through the early 50's was a great era for SMU football. I save as many of those pix as I can to my computer.

Thx so much!!!

that's the monument my son and I walked by as the game ended last week. As we paused to take his picture next to it, a woman apologized for having sat her empty coke cup on it. I think they should rope it off, personally.

Well said RGV.

Just out of respect & history, it's hard to believe anyone would do that in the first place. People are very different today. At least she apologized for her act.

There were a few buried there when Ownby was in existence. I am not sure what happened to all of the remains, but I am 100% certain that there is one, and only one, set of remains that is under the statue at Ford Stadium. Those are the remains of Peruna VI who served us proudly during the Pony Express years.
