Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadActually he was on a picnic with Ivan Yakinoff.
![]() GO PONIES!!!
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadMMM is a cool dude, folks.
I'd rather he sang Geronimo's Cadillac, though. ![]()
Re: The Official "Wildfire" Thread
MMM might be the cat's meow, but I don't go to a Cyndi Lauper concert to see a ping pong tournament.
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadI have no idea what that means but it made me laugh when I read it.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: The Official "Wildfire" Threadthis is the history of the song "Wildfire" a hit in its time.
http://www.theboot.com/2008/10/22/story ... n-murphey/ The dislike of the song by some on this board is probably for the most part generational except to the extent it is driven by the horse controversy. I like MMM and Wildfire as do most of my friends. The roots of this song are a Mystic Horse. a Mustang!
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadBut in the song, its a pony she named Wildfire.
"It'd be nice to see Jesse Henderson break one here."
Re: The Official "Wildfire" Thread
Whatever, we can ask MMM but I guarantee he did not have a shetland pony in mind when he wrote the song.
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadIn that case he did not have the SMU mascot in mind then. Peruna is THE mascot now and forever.
Of course, as asinine as this decision is, it has already been made and I cannot do a damn thing about it. I am resigned to having the goofy rider mascot come in and take away from the traditional game atmosphere. As should we all be. I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: The Official "Wildfire" Thread
But now you can .... do something like that .... sort of. MMM put on a great show several years back at the beautifully restored circa. 1900 Kidd-Key Auditorium in Sherman, Texas. One of the best shows I've ever seen. (And I've seen Black Sabbath.)
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadMMM is a good entertainer but I am not sure he is going to fire up the crowd at Ford.
GO PONIES!!!
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadThis is the worst idea ever!! We don't need some 70's songwriter retread to sing at a football game! WTF!!? Was this a package deal with the new horses? Mrs. Pickens favorite musician?

"Your announcer is Bill Melton."
Re: The Official "Wildfire" Thread
And I bet he didn't have a couple kneeling down geldings in mind, either.
Re: The Official "Wildfire" ThreadCan't wait to see what kind of piano they roll onto the field for the intro and outro.
