Hey June Jones!!!!!

Postby bagice » Sat Oct 17, 2009 11:41 pm

How's it going? I just got back with the game and I thought I would write you some comments...

Tough one eh? Bet you thought you had that one. Sucks to get beat by your lil Navy Protege like that in overtime...Gotta hand it to him though, he dropped 8 back in coverage all night to stifle Bo and it worked...you and him just can't resist going deep, even if they are giving you the short stuff...oh well, its over now, you can stand back up and put your panties back on..the Navy Defensive coordinator is done with you now...

How bout that Bo..No INTs again! Course 19 completions for 200 yards hardly will cut it in the run and shoot...but darn it, we were close...

Oh, and how bout them big ponies you just had to have? That sure caused a [deleted] storm didn't it..SMU, to their credit really dialed that one down. Was a good try though, if I was 1-11 last year with my only win against a FCS team and one of my 3 wins this year against an FCS team, guess I would try and take the focus off the field too..

Funny thing is, people think you are great..like SMU is kicking butt like never before...they sure do have short memories...Bennett had us 6-6 just 3 years ago and a hair short of a bowl game..hell...two hairs short of being in the C-USA title game..to be fair though,, you two do have some things in common, like 1-11 seasons....oh and Phil wanted big ponies too...oh wait, nevermind, he honored SMU traditions, had similar results, and didn't cost 2 million a year....

Oh well, I am sure the sunshiners still think you are great..we will get em next week....Maybe you can eff up a little more between now and then and destroy some more traditions to mask your cruddy record.

You don't take losses well, so you - Will you start another boycott??

As much as I can't stand most of GSP's quotes, yours are worse....and that's saying a lot.

Quit crying or just shut up. If you can't enjoy that game tonight and see that things are vastly improved across the board, then you are trying too hard to keep your eyes closed.

I don't like that we lost but I did enjoy that game. I bet the recruits enjoyed it as well.

It was there on a silver platter tonight. Dont give us this we have to develop the program to win games like that crap. We had the weapons to win tonight between Shawbrey (JUNIOR) and Emmanuel (SENIOR).

no doubt. ES and/or Al should never....EVER...wind up shaking their heads because they weren't thrown to when wide open. If I'm a sketchy QB, they are my de facto reads...always should know where they are. Period.

I told my wife on the way out that I am SO tired of moral victories. Last time I checked, it takes 6 ACTUAL victories to get to a bowl game. We have been competitive in a LOT of games over the past 3 seasons, but that doesn't get us anywhere. Let's start putting some away for God's sakes.

Sure it was an enjoyable game if you want to settle for enjoyable games there have been quite a few over the last 20 years and none of those coaches were paid 2mil. per year to give us enjoyable games. Hell things improved under Phil Bennett after Caven. JJ cost us this game pure and simple and I am tired of his excuses and blaming the players. That game like the WSU game was ours and the coaches lost both.

I agree..we had both games and let the other teams get away with something..they both went away laughing like 'whoh..that was a close one'.......that is BS..those were both winable.....the QB takes direction directly every play from JJ and after all he is just a sophomore, so direct traffic accordingly coaches....

Man you guys are tough. I thought SMU played its best game of the year. Navy dropped 8 deep which made Mitchell's job tough. SMU's RBs had just about as good a nite as you will ever see in the Run and Shoot. He definitely missed some passes but we had zero turnovers right. Navy executed very well in the 2nd Half. I thought SMU Coaches did a great job in the game plan to stop the flexbone. Navy just exected better. It is disappointing that we are not hitting on offense like we could. Lots of room for improvement but we played a quality team to the wire. More impressed by that than all other victories this year. ECU was a good win-but hey we really didn't play that well-about 5 unbelievable plays turned that game on a dime. Tonite SMU played toe to toe with a quality team.

I think that's the best post you've ever had, Stallion. I couldn't agree with you more. Navy is a terrific team, and we stood there and fought with them. In several recent years, we get blown out of this game by halftime, after getting smoked on the first drive. But this team is better-coached, more talented and far more resilient than other recent teams. If we had played like this every time out, we're 5-1 and talking about which game will make us a bowl team. We certainly still can get there, but this performance was really good. This team is miles ahead of where it was a year ago, and seems to be getting better just about every time out.
